Three stallions entered the battle in the Z/ZZ-L class tonight. Jameson RS2 (s.Blue Hors Zack), Jheronimus (s.Dream Boy) and GLOCK’s Taminiau (s.GLOCK’s Toto Jr.). Judges Joyce van Rooijen-Heuitink and Bart Bax awarded the highest points to GLOCK’s Taminiau.

The first to take the stage was Jameson RS2 (out of Atilinda elite pref IBOP-dr D-OC by Negro) ridden by Marieke van der Putten. The stallion is bred by Stal 104 BV in Wijdewormer. Today, the black stallion showed some tension in the walk which resulted in a 6.5. In the trot he made up for it by scoring a 10. Jury member Joyce van Rooijen-Heuitink commented: “It is light-footed, uphill, with a lovely posture. He covers lots of ground in the lateral movements and displays abundant elasticity.” Jameson RS2 scored a lovely 9 for the canter. “The canter has lots of impression and is uphill. He shows ample balance in the counter canter and pirouettes. He also covers heaps of ground in the extensions”, says Joyce. The submission was awarded an 8. Regarding the general impression, the jury says: “Jameson has loads of expression and posture. He also has the talent for collections.” This received an 8, bringing the final score to 85 points.

Jheronimus

The walk is the strong suit of Dream Boy-Jheronumus (out of A.Bertje ster pref prest PROK by Jazz) and it was rewarded with an 8.5. “He covers a lot of ground in the extended walk and despite his tension the walk remained pure”, explains Joyce. The stallion is bred and owned by W.P.S. van Weert of Beesd. Jheronimus scored an 8 for the trot. “The canter is correct but could remain slightly more uphill and jumped more through the body”, said the jury. This ensued in a 7.5 for the canter. His obedience and willingness to work resulted in an 8 for submission. The overall impression is an 8, Joyce tells: “Jheronimus is a horse with expression and eagerness to work, but he could develop his posture further.” Kirsten Brouwer steered the stallion to a total score of 80 points.

GLOCK’s Taminiau

The winner of the Z/ZZ-L class is GLOCK’s Taminiau. Hans Peter Minderhoud presented the black GLOCK’s Toto Jr.-offspring (out of Vitamin C. elite pref prest PROK by Sandro Hit, bred by J.W. Holtand of IJsselmuiden, registered to GLOCK HPC NL BV in Oosterbeek). For the walk, the stallion scored a 9: “He walks with lots of impression and space. This horse shows in particular a powerful collected walk, tells Joyce. About the trot she says: “He has a trot with lots of cadence and push.” In the extensions the stallion may remain slightly more active in the hind leg, resulting in a 9. “In the canter this horse has lots of power and balance”, explains Joyce. GLOCK’s Taminiau scored a 9.5 for the canter. The submission was awarded an 8.5 and the overall impression a 9. These grades made up the winning score of 90 points.
