At the KWPN Stallion Selection, five predicate stallions were honoured tonight. Four stallions received the keur predicate, Baltic VDL was declared preferent.

Henk Dirksen provided the explanatory notes as the Stakkato-son Ukato was declared keur posthumously. The prematurely deceased stallion was successful with Willem Greve and produced multiple children at the highest level, including world cup winner Alamo. A keur predicate was also granted to Indoctro-son Bustique, that has brought rideable horses in both the top sport and the American hunter scene. One of the most striking Bustique-offspring is Beauville Z, that won Olympic bronze in Tokyo.

Fresh

The 18-year-old Carambole (s.Cassini I) showed to still be fresh as ever as he was presented in hand by rider Willem Greve. Carambole was part of the winning team in the Nations Cup this year but also proved to be valuable to Dutch breeding through multiple Grand Prix-offspring. For that reason, he was awarded the keur predicate tonight. The Voltaire-son Vingino also received this predicate. The 1.60m stallion produced 14 offspring at 1.55m level or higher. The 20-year-old stallion took on his sash under saddle.

Baltic VDL

The most prestigious predicate – preferent – was bestowed on Baltic VDL (s.Quaprice Z). This stallion already caught everyone’s eye at three years of age the stallion who and completely lived up to the expectations. He jumped at international 1.60m level and passes on his qualities to his children. The oldest are jumping at the highest level by now and his son Leone Jei won silver at the European Championships last year.
