From the half-brother of world champion Always There to the half-brother of auction top seller My Toto VDT and from the half-brother of the 1.60m-stallion Cosun to a stallion out of the half-sister of the top progenitor Easy Game. The KWPN Select Sale offers as per usual another top collection of promising young stallions for sale. Yesterday, three KSS dressage stallions got appointed to the performance test. Wim Versteeg and Frederick de Backer walked you through the collection.

“Stallions that have a great future in sport ahead of them and perhaps also in breeding”, summarize Frederick de Backer and Wim Versteeg. “This year’s dressage collection is somewhat smaller, but we have selected a number of modern dressage horses that move with lots of posture and athletic body use. They are appealing, alluring tupes that are built uphill and move in a functional and powerful fashion. These horses can become serious contenders in the sport ring and in breeding in the future. The collection jumper stallions is bigger and more varied. We have selected stallions that can develop into the better showjumper, but also stallions that would be a great fit in the hunter arena”, explains Wim Versteeg. 

Approved stallions

Olympus VDT (s.Romanov Blue Hors), the half-brother of auction top seller My Toto VDT, is one of the stallions that got appointed to the performance test. The second appointed stallion is the Schwarzgold-son. “This stallion has an incredibly interesting pedigree and descends from one of the best Trakehner lines. His dam is the renowned Elvira IV and half-sister of the top progenitor Easy Game”, tells Frederik de Backer. The third appointed stallion is Onesia Fomia, a son of the Olympic All At Once, out of the Z2-mare Waimea Fomia (s.Farrington). Outstanding (s.Macarana) is another stallion in this collection. His dam is the full sister of the KWPN-approved High Five US. Springbank II VH-son Omega is the half-brother of the KWPN-approved stallion Lord Romantic. The dam of Olrava (s.Just Wimphof) is the half-sister of no less than three Small Tour horses. Onyx W also possesses a fantastic pedigree that features Vitalis, Diamond Hit, Rubinstein I and Doruto. The eighth and last dressage stallion of the KWPN Select Sale collection is One Straight T, a son by For Gold, the grandson of Weihegold OLD, out of a daufhter of the Olympic and EC team medalist Everdale. 

Online auction

By now, bidding is in full swing, the first bids have been placed. Monday February 7th, the stallions are auctioned online at the auction platform www.KWPN.auction. 16 jumper stallions and 8 dressage stallions were selected by the selection committee.
