For more than 20 years, the KWPN Stallion Show and the KWPN Select Sale have been joined forces. The participating stallions are all at the beginning of their successful careers. The KWPN Select Sale offers the crème de la crème of the crop and the selection committee has repeatedly proven to have a good eye for up-and-coming talent.

The all-time auction topper of the KWPN Select Sale is still Blue Hors Zack. The now 19-year-old stallion graces the KWPN Stallion Show this year because of his gold team medal at the World Championships in Herning last summer.

430,000 euros
The KWPN Stallion Show champion was sold during the KWPN Select Sale for a whopping 430,000 euros to Esben Möller. In 2017, the stallion made his appearance in the Grand Prix under Daniel Bachman Andersen and since 2021, he has continued his career with Nanna Merrald-Rasmussen. He participated in a total of four international championships and two World Cup finals. In 2019 there was a 5th place individually at the European Championships in Rotterdam, at the Tokyo Olympics there was a 4th place with the team, he finished 4th and 7th respectively at the World Cup finals and last summer his career was crowned with team gold at the World Championships in Herning.

Breeding successes
In addition to his sporting successes, the stallion also made his mark in breeding and managed to combine breeding with sport. GLOCK's Zonik, who died far too early, is one of his most famous licensed sons. As a three-year-old, Jameson RS2 followed in his footsteps by becoming champion of the KWPN Stallion Show, just like his sire.

Hartsuijker on his way to world top
Another KSS success currently making his presence is the Johnson son Hartsuijker. He was sold as a three-year-old through the KWPN Select Sale as well. With Dinja van Liere, he has shown that the world top should take him into account. Every competition again, the combination manages to improve  their PR scores. Last weekend, for example, at the World Cup qualifier in Basel, Austria, they came 5th in the freestyle with a score of over 82%.

Desperately trying his best
"Hartsuijker never ceases to amaze me. He tries so hard. He is very different at competition than at home in training. Then he is quiet and at a competition he goes the extra mile. He knows in the ring that it has to happen and enjoys going to an international competition," Van Liere told the Dutch Federation last week.

The new Blue Hors Zack and Hartsuijker
It is only a matter of time whether the current KWPN Select Sale collection includes the new Blue Hors Zack and Hartsuijker. One thing is certain, the selection committee has captured a lot of talent. Bidding for the stallions starts on Friday 3 February, with bids closing on Monday 6 February from 20:00.
