Day two of the KWPN Stallion Show 2023 has begun! Today, we carry on with the second round viewing for jumper stallions but the Thursday has plenty more in stock.

At 08.00hrs the last 35 jumper stallions, divided over four groups, perform in the second round viewing. We will see offspring of the following stallions: Chacco Blue, Chacfly, Chaclot, Chacoon Blue, Hardrock Z, All Star, Cohinoor VDL, Eldorado van de Zeshoek, Gaspahr, Jukebox, Justice HL, Tobago Z, Dominator Z, Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, Opium JW van de Moerhoeve TN, Uricas van de Kattevennen, Kallmar  VDL, Kannan JR and La Costa ES. Afterwards, the appointed stallions are presented and the premium stallions are honoured.

At 15.00 hours the newest crop of jumper stallions approved in 2022 set foot in the arena for a presentation to the audience. Then it is time for the Show ‘Young Talent powered by Onori’. 

Blom Stallion Competition Jumping

After three competitions in Kronenberg, De Meern and Exloo, the final of the Blom Stallion Competition is ridden at the KWPN Stallion Show today. It will become clear whether the leaders of the current standings can convert that top position into the competition win. In jumping we saw a unique situation as both the M-class and the competition at Z/ZZ-level yielded the same winner in all three selection rounds. The rising seven-year-old Kentucky TMS Z and Maikel van der Vleuten and the one year his junior Stargos VDL ridden by Iris Hakvoort are the unanimous leaders of the intermediate rankings and therefore the ones to beat this final. 

Predicate stallions jumping

Right after the L-class of the Blom Stallion Competition the newly declared predicate stallions are honoured for their achievement and awarded the keur or preferent predicate. 

KWPN Jumping Horse of the Year 2022

We then direct the spotlight on our Jumping Horse of the Year 2022: Grandorado TN N.O.P. Nearly 6.000 votes were cast this year in the election KWPN Horse of the Year. Grandorado TN N.O.P. emerged as undeniable favourite in the category jumper horses. Tonight at 19.00hrs the stallion will be honoured. 

VHO Trophy / Grand Prix

The day is concluded with the thrilling battle for the VHO Trophy/Grand Prix at 1.40m/1.50m height. In 2020, the victory was seized by Grandorado TN and Willem Greve. Who will become the successor of Grandorado to claim the trophy this year? It promises to be an exciting battle.
