Three successive wins made Kentucky TMS Z the tipped favourite for the overall win in the Blom Stallion Selection. Another solid clear round ensure the Kannan-son the title.

Ridden by Maikel van der Vleuten, the seven-year-old Kentucky TMS Z (Kannan out of Elite van Prinseveld by Toulon, bred/owned by Tal Milstein) of Van der Vleuten Stables, Kees van den Oetelaar and Tal Milstein, showed to be in excellent form. After the victories in Kronenberg, Exloo and De Meern, the pair had accumulated a firm lead and another supreme clear round secured them the competition title. Eight entries advanced to the jump-off and as leaders of the standings, Maikel and Kentucky TMS Z were the last ones to go. The combination was right on track to a day victory, but the lightning-fast time came at the expense of a rail on the last oxer. It did not spoil the fun: the competition win had been procured. “Kentucky TMS Z has so many possibilities as a sport hors and I think that throughout this competition he has shown the breeders that his attitude, mindset and carefulness are great. Time will tell how far he may come but the feeling is good, it is now a matter of gaining experience”, Maikel van der Vleuten responds.

Day victory for Lingo

The fast Lingo van de Watermolen (Connect out of Happy Zwiggy stb by Carambole) of breeder Jan Greve claimed the day victory with Steven Veldhuis. The two have only recently become a combination and because they did not participate in all the selection competitions, the stallion was not in the race for the competition title. The runner-up in the overall standings was Lambrusco (Entertainer out of Total Touch stb-ext pref prest by Lux) ridden by his breeder Pieter Keunen. The stallion of Hendrix Stables showcased great athetlic ability in the final. So did his stable mate Lambada Shake AG (Aganix du Seigneur out of Grappa AG by Spartacus, breeder Alex Gisbertz) that slotted in fourth place. In the midst of the two Hendrix stallions, we find the sharp Arezzo VDL-offspring Levi VDL (out of Erusa ster EPTM-spr D-OC by Diamant de Semilly, breeder E. Reyrink of Diessen) and Marcel de Boer in third.
