Dark Rousseau and rider Kim Alting held the cards heading into the L-class final of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage. The stallion performed a lovely test even in the impressive surroundings of the KWPN Stallion Show, thereby keeping a tight grip on the overall competition title.

The day victory, however, was secured by Network (Just Wimphof out of Keyveniz Texel stb-ext pref D-OC by Negro breeder Danique Broekema and Daan Staller of Westbeemster). He was awarded the only 10 of the night, contributing to an overall score of 89,4. “The strides in the walk were of more than sufficient length, but could be more powerful at times”, Mariëtte Sanders – van Gansewinkel commented. “In trot we saw a lovely frame with a beautiful, soft connection. The canter is so functional. The submission led to some discussion. We could not find a reason not to give a 10, so we did.” Consequently, Network rose to the third rank in final standings of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage.

Competition winner Dark Rousseau

Dark Rousseau (Dettori out of Westside ster PROK by Rousseau, breeder Hanny Verdellen of Hegelsom) showed some tension in the impressive arena. However, the stallion remained obedient and started to relax more as the test progressed. “In the first part of the trot Dark Rousseau seemed a bit impressed by his surroundings, but it got better throughout the test. He is like a rubber ball, incredibly elastic.”  A 9 for the trot helped Dark Rousseau obtain 85 points in total. The third place in the final, but enough to secure the overall competition win.

Powerful Nalegro

Nalegro (Painted Black out of Jalegrofleur ster PROK by Negro, bred by van Olst Horses of Den Hout and Joop Hanse of Burgh-Haamstede) emerged as the runner-up in both the final and the overall competition standings. Ridden by Charlotte Fry, the stallion commanded intrigue with his abundant power. The canter was awarded a 9,5 and the score in the final test added up to 87,4 points.
