All five dressage stallions that participated in the final exam, were registered in the studbook with solid scores. The Tørveslettens Sylvester-offspring Pernod RS 2 emerged as the most complete stallion as he obtained 85,5 points.

The stallion selection committee compiled of chairman Bert Rutten, Johan Hamminga, and Wouter Plaizier, added five more names to the list of KWPN-approved dressage stallions. “The spring performance test commenced a month earlier this year, but these young stallions showed that it did not stand in the way of a good performance”, said the chairman.

Top score

Four out five stallions secured an 80+ score. Receiving nines for the walk and canter, Pernod RS 2 (Tørveslettens Sylvesterout of Iveniz Texel RS2 ster PROK by Negro, bred by RS2 Dressage Center de Horst BV of Groesbeek) swayed to the top score of 85,5 points. “This uphill stallion moves with a great front leg technique and possesses three good to great gaits. In relaxation he walks very well, always covering a lot of ground while maintaining an active and pure rhythm. In trot he maintains his balance in the turns and by nature, his frame is always uphill. His canter is also uphill, with a powerful push off the ground and he follows the hand nicely.” Securing an 84,5-point total, the Hermes-son Patheon (out of Watradin ster PROK by San Remo, bred by Thijs Schaap of Woudrichem) of Joop van Uytert and Anchor Excellent Horses BV of Woerden, also left a good impression. He was given a 9 for his walk. “This is also a very pleasant horse to work with. He has a good suspension in trot, can package his stride very well and is very cooperative. He showed a consistent performance each and every day. His walk has clearly improved throughout the performance test, it is pure, scopey and active. In canter he shows he can already collect on the hind leg easily. His engaged hindquarter in the trot ensures an uphill frame.” The other registered stallions were also lauded for their willingness and eagerness.
