SC Ermelo: Close finish between Giovanni and Gunner KS
Three contestants could be found in the combined Z/PSG-Class of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition dressage. From the G-year, the two chestnuts Giovanni (s.Chippendale) and Gunner KS (s.Belissimo M) were very close. It was Giovanni, who was presented by Franka Loos, who received 84 points and took the win.
“What a bold and well ridden test”, Mariette Sanders said afterwards. “The walk is a clear four-beat, with sufficient reach, but we would like to see more difference between the extended and the collected walk, an 8. The trot makes a very good impression overall. He keeps on marching over the legs and clearly, the motor is in the back. We would like to see him a bit more loose in front, an 8,5. The canter has good jump and lots of power, a 9. In the mark for harmony, we have to consider that he could show more relaxation in the top-line, the mouth is also a bit open, an 8. With an 8,5 for talent as a dressage horse, the powerful chestnut gets a total of 84 points.
As if you are flying
“He hasn’t been in our stables for very long”, Franka Loos said afterwards. “Giovanni (Chippendale out of Zarava elite IBOP-dres sport-dres by Scandic, breeder C. van Etten from Galder) takes on the work very well. Of course we would have to see how he would do in a test, but he stayed very focused. I was very happy with his performance. Giovanni has a fantastic trot and canter, it is just as if you’re flying! He gives a very nice feeling and will be able to go all the way to Grand Prix”, says his rider that works for Gertjan and Anne van Olst since June.
Impressive Gunner KS
The impressive stallion Gunner KS (Belissimo M out of Ronnevanck ster pref prest PROK sport-dres by Vincent, breeder A. Kleijwegt from Heinkenszand) was ridden to 83 points by Dana van Lierop. “The walk is clear and correct, although the transition from extended to collected walk could be better. Gunner KS is a horse with a lot of posture and suppleness but in trot he could keep a bit more rhythm. He showed nice canter changes, a 9.” The well-presented stallion got an 8,5 for harmony and an 8,8 for talent.
For Gribaldi (Gribaldi out of Kladaula keur pref by Michelangelo, breeders A. Barneveld from Bilthoven and J.M. van Uytert from Heerewaarden) did his test at Inter-I-level. Ridden by Dinja van Liere, the son of Gribaldi received only 7’s and 8’s, which brought him to 75 points.
