A collection of thirtheen foals of young KWPN jumping stallions will be auctioned, all foals are from interesting dams that come from strong dam-lines and have competed at high level themselves. This auction will be held in the afternoon of the final day of the KWPN Championships for Young Jumpers competing for the Blom Cup, on Thursday August 16th 2018 in Ermelo.

Stallions are considered ‘young’ when their oldest offspring will be a maximum of three years of age this year; so stallions that have been approved after the end of the autumn performance test 2014 or later.

“The idea to organise an auction exclusively for jumper foals sired by young stallions, emerged as we wanted to bring the use of young stallions under the footlight”, says senior-inspector Wim Versteeg. “Because young stallions are the progenitors of the future and every top sire was once a young stallion. It is therefore important that young stallions receive a chance in breeding. Not only the chance to cover the mares, but more so the better mares.” And this last category is where the Young Jumping Foal Sale is targeted on specifically. All the dams of the selected foals have performed at 1.30m level or higher themselves.

The collection consists of foals by Chapeau TN, Glenfiddich VDL, Golddigger, Grandorado TN, Hardwell, Highway M TN, Hotspot, Impressive VDL, Indian Gold, Innocent, Insider VDL, It’s A Dream and Jenssen VDL.
