ErmeloYH: revenge for Asgard's Ibiza
On this second day of the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses in Ermelo, the five-year-olds came back for the small final. The Desperado-son Asgard’s Ibiza showed he is a force to be reckoned with, as he won the small final with 8.96 points.
Where Asgard’s Ibiza had a disappointing test yesterday with a lot of mistakes, today Juliane Brunkhorst retaliated with an incredible performance. The frame was beautiful and with lots of elasticity, the stallion showed his potential. President of the judges Susaane Baarup was very pleased with the in Oldenburg approved stallion: “A true eye-catcher, the trot shows lots of balance an ability to collect, 9.2. The walk had a pure four beat, 8.5, the canter is remarkably uphill, 9.3. The 8.7 for submission and 9 for perspective, brought the total to 8.96, enough for the victory in this small final. Juliane Brunkhorst was happy: “Yesterday he was very strong, but today he was at ease. It is an incredible horse and I believe he belongs in the final. I look forward to it.” Asgard’s Ibiza was bred by L. Boogert of Winterswijk Hexel.
In second place was the full sister of the stallion Sezuan, Straigh Horse Ascencione (Blue Horse Zack x Don Schufro) that was nicely presented by the 20-year-old Victoria E. Vallentin. She received a 9.4 for the trot. Third was the expressively trotting Johnson-son Lindballe’s Just Perfect, ridden by the Australian Simone Pearce.
The final starts tomorrow at 15.00hrs.
