Both his breeders as his owners were present at the award cermony. Maikel van der Vleuten showed the very fit stallion to the enthusiastic audience!
As a three-year-old Verdi was approved by KWPN showing a lot of potential. He has fully lived up to the expectations in both sport and breeding. In recent years Verdi has been invaluable for his rider Maikel van der Vleuten, for the Dutch team and for the many breeders who have used him for breeding.
As a breeding stallion, Verdi got many chances, but he has fulfilled all expectations. He has nineteen approved sons worldwide, four of whom received their breeding license from the KWPN. Following his breeding successes, Verdi was declared preferent in 2018. In Verdi's first year of breeding, he already produced six 1.60 horses. In the meantime more than 180 of his offspring are active in international jumping at 1.40 level or higher, of which 37 compete at the highest level in the sport.
Over the years, Verdi stole the hearts of Maikel, the Dutch team coach, his owners and his grooms Kelly Scaf, Lianne Kuijpers and Lisa Parko. That u, the public, values him tremendously, was noticed by the amount of votes that he received in the election!
