Black Horses starts online auction of dressage horses
The first edition of the Black Horses Auction will take place on Saturday the 1st of August. The online auction will include an interesting collection of around 40 dressage horses. This collection will have an exciting horse for every dressage lover, since the horses vary from talented untrained horses to higher level dressage horses and interesting broodmares. “With Black Horses Stud we want to focus more on the breeding of showjumpers and that is why we are going to sell our dressage horses through this online auction format”, says owner Jan Vink.
“Eventually, I am planning on selling all our dressage horses; the only one who will for sure never be sold is the 24-year-old O.Bertje, since I promised the late Huub van Helvoirt she will always stay at our stables”, Jan Vink explains. “We are now starting off with this online auction format with an exciting collection of 3- and 4-year-old dressage horses, a number of well-educated competition horses and some very interesting broodmares. In the coming years, the plan is to organize multiple online auctions and auction all our dressage horses.”
For years, Black Horses Stud has been breeding with some of the best dressage damlines and uses some of Europe’s leading stallions, so the collection certainly includes of dressage horses with fantastic genes. In addition, a number of successful competition dressage horses will also be included in the first online auction. “It is a diverse group of horses; there should be an interesting horse for everyone. In addition, all horses are presented with a recent veterinary examination. The untrained horses and the riding horses underwent a full veterinary check including neck and back X-rays; the broodmares are all veterinary checked for health and fitness ”, Jan Vink explains. The veterinary data will all be available prior to the online auction.
Jan Vink entrusted the organization of the Black Horses Auction to the brothers Jasper and Peter van der Waaij of Waaij Stud from Eemnes. “Two enthusiastic guys who already have experience with auctions,” says Vink. The Van der Waaij brothers organize their own sporthorse auction The Youngsters and are involved with several other auctions, such as Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.
In the beginning of July, the collection of the Black Horses Auction will be revealed; starting with the collection of the riding horses and broodmares, to be followed by the collection of the untrained dressage horses.
