First day yields 32 appointed jumper stallions
The first day of the online KWPN Stallion Show in Ermelo has ended! An excellent start with 32 appointed stallions, of which three were declared premium.
With regards to bloodlines today was a varied day. Several sires showed their first sons, amongst them the eight-year-old Ibolensky who directly got two sons appointed, and several proven progenitors that lived up to their reputation. The established names Cornet Obolensky, Diamant de Semilly, Thunder van de Zuuthoeve and Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve each saw two of their offspring receive an invite to the performance test.
Stallion committee member Wout-Jan van der Schans had to be replaced with Arie Hamoen last minute, but that did not prevent the committee to form a harmonious team today. “We have been able to perform our jury duties well today. In general, the stallions were presented and prepared in such a way we could make a fair assessment of their natural talents. We are pleased with the 32 stallions we appointed, and we are eager to see this group under the saddle in the performance test”, responds chairman of the committee Cor Loeffen. “We made our selection based on conformation, pedigree and free jumping. We kept an eye out for scope, reflexes and light-footedness in the canter. A few times we gave a genetically interesting stallion the benefit of the doubt as we can make a better estimate of the natural abilities during the performance test.”
Three stallions earned the title premium and are thereby invited to the premium round that takes place tomorrow afternoon. For the first time, stallions with a non-KWPN life number can also be invited and this option was immediately exercised.
Stallions that were declared premium:

- Night Life VDL (Erco van ’t Roosakker x Arezzo VDL) owned by breeder VDL Stud
