Yesterday the 4-year-old Gelder stallions arrived and the presentation of the already approved stallions took place in Ermelo. Two stallions have started their performance test at the KWPN Centre in Ermelo.

Last week the 3-year-old Gelder stallion Newman (Elton out of Beaujamanda ster s.Upperville, breeder H.G. Hekkert from Wijhe) started his performace test. Yesterday Newman was assessed by the stallion selection committee for the first time. The stallion was ridden by Roel Harke and he was judged for his basic gaits. Newman has also jumped with good attitude," says Wim Versteeg.

Performance test

Two 4-year-old Gelder stallions started their performance test, McKenzy JHL (Alexandro P out of Happines elite IBOP PROK s.WV Saron, breeder L. Roerdink from Groenlo) and Matiz (Eebert out of Honey ster PROK s.Vitens, breeder G.H. Hofs from Varsseveld). "Both stallions were assigned last year for the performance test. McKenzy was the first to be presented, he was offered for a test under saddle. The stallion was ridden by his own rider and he also jumped under saddle. The stallion was trainable and started his performance test in Ermelo. Matiz was offered for the performance test in-harness. He was also found trainable after his presentation in-harness. Both stallions were examined by a veterinarian, which showed no problems.

Presentation in harness

The afternoon ended with a presentation in-harness of the three Gelder stallions who were approved last autumn. The stallions Mexpression (Expression out of Colinda ster PROK s.Koss, breeder H.A. Bruil from Terborg), Mandienio WL (Glamourdale out of Widienie keur sport s.Parcival, breeder K. Pestman and J.J. Pestman from Winsum) and Markant BK (Wilson out of Wiezelma ster pref s.Sirius, breeder L.W.M. Kollenburg from Best) were presented by their own rider. "Last year, all three stallions completed the performance test under saddle. After the approval under the saddle, they have to be presented twice this year in the harness. All three stallions were presented in the Willem-Alexanderhal in walk, trot and canter, and to test their maneuverability they also had to ride a number of gates through cones. The stallions showed a good performance so they may return next week fort he second test. If the weather conditions are good, the second test will be done outside," said Wim Versteeg.

Because of the Corona measures, this delivery is not open to the public. The final presentation, on May 14, will be broadcasted by the livestream.
