Under the condition of passing the radiographic PROK examination the stallion selection committee in cooperation with inspector Viggon van Beest has selected twelve stallions for the performance test. Three stallions were declared premium.

Stallion selection chairman Lammert Tel and Viggon van Beest expressed their satisfaction about how this different from other stallion inspection, which had to take place without an audience. They were very satisfied about the qualities of the stallions. A total of 34 stallions were judged this last week outside on the street. After the first round viewing indoors, 15 stallions were selected for to the second round viewing and seven were declared ster. In the second round viewing, three stallions were not selected, resulting in twelve stallions being invited for the performance test.

Very grateful

Lammert Tel: "That is a very nice number of 34 stallions. We are also very grateful to the senders (registered parties) of the stallions for their willingness to ‘store them’ for so long, as I call it. Compared to other years, it is a nice number, not even that much different. And that after such a year. We were able to select stallions from good bloodlines. The three premium stallions really stood out, especially the grey Idol, who showed over and over again with his withers up, he was the best of the day. But the other two premium stallions were also very well quality moving stallions."

Breeders’ premium

Viggon van Beest: "I'm also happy that we were able to select from young stallions such as Indiana, Icellie, Idol and Hertog Jan as well as a stallion from the first year of Bocellies Matteo. We are also happy with Urgent, who you do not see every day. Especially with the low-related three-year-old Hackney stallion with such a height. The relatedness varies from 2.7% to 12.8%, so that also offers possibilities. It is also very nice that all three premium stallions are already PROK-approved, so the €1000 euro breeder’s premium can be handed out after meeting all veterinary requirements.
