WC Lanaken: thirteen clear six-year-old KWPN-horses
The first leg of the WC for six-year-old jumper horses has resulted in a clear round for 13 KWPN-horses, among them the stallion Kardinaal HX and the now gelded Key West.
The six-year-olds were presented with a two-phase 1.35m course. In the eleventh time, Philippa Wifdfang Linde steered Kristal (Callahan VDL out of Priscilla keur sport-spr prest by Concorde, bred by G.J. Jacobs) through the courses with no penalties. The mare was the best KWPN-horse of her category, just ahead of the KWPN-approved Key West (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve out of Zanory T keur prest by Chin Chin, bred by Roelof Bril) with Ronnie Jones. There was no lack in speed this class as the first 14 (!) combinations all finished the course with less than a second difference and it was BP Limitless (s.Elvis ter Putte) with Max O’Reilly Hyland that came out on top. Two Eldorado van de Zeshoek-offspring of Wilgo van de Mheen put on a top performance with Nick and Monqiue van den Broek: Kasper R (out of Termieque elite prest PROK by Baloubet du Rouet, bred by Marinus Rietberg) ended up on the 16th position and Kilimanjaro (out of Faith by Quality Time, bred by Th. P.P. ter Huurne) placed 31st.
The KWPN-approved stallion Kardinaal HX (Don Diablo HX out of Wimette ster sport-spr by Karandasj) of breeder Stal Hendrix also jumped a clear round with Pieter Keunen. The 2019 Blom Cup champion is therefore still in the race for a ticket to the final. Exactly 100 out of 259 contestants remained clear. In a time that would have secured the second place. Bas Moerings and Blom Cup winner Kwik Tweet (s.For Pleasure) unfortunately had a rail down and thereby dropped to the middle of the rankings.
