Stallion Competition Ermelo: Gelder stallion Mexpression top scorer
Today’s leg of the 2021/2022 Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage kicked off with three Gelder stallions. Mandienio WL (s.Glamourdale), Markant BK (s.Wilson) and Mexpression (s.Expression) all made their appearance in Ermelo tonight.
The first four-year-old stallion to enter the ring was Mandienio WL (s.Glamourdale out of Widieni keur sport-dres by Parcival, bred by K & J.J. Pestman of Winsum). Mandieno WL was the only stallion to be presented in harness and was driven by Alfons Engbers. The stallion scored a wonderful 9 for his canter. Both his elasticity and general impression was rewarded with an 8.5. The Gelder stallion furthermore received an 8 for the trot and a 7.5 for the walk. “We have seen a beautiful stallion of which we have truly enjoyed the canter”, says jury member Jaap Boom. The total score of Mandienio amounted to 82 points.
Markant BK (out of Wiezelma ster pref by Sirius) was the second to start in this competition. The Wilson-son is bred by L.W.M. Kollenburg of Best and registered to B. Verwaijen of Eerbeek. Jean René Luijmes presented the stallion. “An active and pure walk with lots of impression’, comments judge Joyce van Rooijen-Heuitink. The stallion received an 8 for it, while the trot yielded a 7.5 and the canter an 8. The self-carriage and elasticity were awarded a 7.5. The overall impression of the stallion was valued at an 8. “We think this is a beautiful Gelder horse with lots of presence. A horse that performs the test in a willing manner”, says Joyce. The functionality and the conformation were graded with an 8. These marks bring the total to 78 points.
Last best, as proven by Mexpression (out of Colinda ster PROK by Koss). The Expression-offspring is bred by H.A. Bruil of Terborg and registered to B. Verwaijen of Eerbeek and J.D. Jonker of Apeldoorn. The walk received an 8.5, Joyce explains: “He has a spacious and active walk with a good impression and abundant shoulder freedom. He also moves well throughout his body.” The stallion scored an 8 for the trot. “The canter has good ground coverage and a powerful jump,” comments the jury. Mexpression received a fitting 8.5 for this gait. The elasticity was awarded an 8. Regarding the general impression, he received the following praise: “It is a lovely Gelder horse that is clearly willing to work. A horse with presence and a good movement mechanism.” The Expression-son scored an 8.5 for this aspect. The functionality and correctness of the conformation were awarded an 8.5, too. Ridden by Dennis Ausma, the stallion was the top scorer of the night with a total of 83 points.
