It was a long, but enjoyable second day at the KWPN Stallion Selection in Ermelo. In over thirteen hours that included jumper stallions in the second-round viewing, various sports classes, interviews, and award ceremonies it was day full of highlights.

This morning revolved around the second-round viewing, where 22 stallions received the green light. Afterwards, the five best stallions were honoured as premium stallions. The program continued with multiple interesting studio talks, the presentation of the newly approved jumper stallions under the guidance of Henk van den Broek and of course the finals of the Blom Stallion Competition in which Mindset ES (s.Aganix du Seigneur), La Costa ES (s.Mosito van het Hellehof) and Kallas (s.Dallas VDL) could come forward as winners. Two homebred horses of Egbert Schep generated some incredible success and as a breeder Schep was having a memorable day already. Four of his homebred stallions were appointed to the performance test, including premium stallion Oberon ES (s.Nixon van ‘t Meulenhof). As breeder of Olympic champion Explosion W (s.Chacco-Blue) Willy Wijnen came to the studio to see his famous breeding product being awarded the title Jumping Horse of the Year. Five established progenitors were rewarded for their accomplishments in breeding and were granted either a keur or preferent predicate. Tomorrow at 09.00hrs sharp, the dressage stallions kick off their second-round viewing and it promises to be another enticing day.
