The Gelder horse breeding direction has gained two stallions today: both Ibsen B-son Ojee-B and the Atze-offspring Odeer were registered after a positive evaluation in their performance exam.

Marloes van der Velden, chairman of the stallion selection committee Gelder Horse is pleased with the two new stallions: “They are two great Gelder horse that both have the Gelder stamp and, what we deem crucial in this breeding direction, they are work willing horses with an uncomplicated character. They may be two very different stallions, but we can use both of them very well in the Gelder population.”

9 for Ojee-B

Ojee-B (Ibsen B out of Jorien Tilde PROK elite IBOP by Rubus B, bred by G.S.W. te Bokkel of Eerbeek) of Siebe te Bokkel and Anouk Slabbers received the following marks in the final exam: a 7.5 for the walk, an 8 for the trot, an 8,5 for both the canter and the posture, a 9 for agility and the work-willingnes/attitude/forwardness and finally an 8,5 for the general impression. His granddam Barones-Tilde (ster preferent by Koss) is the full sister of the preferent Gelder-approved stallion Alexandro P.

Odeer cherry on top for breeder

The newly registered Gelder stallion Odeer was bred by Anouk Noordman of Zuidwolde and makes for an extraordinary success story. His breeder both campaigned Odeer’s sisre Atze (s.Astor) and his dam Zeronica (elite sport-dres PROk by Talos) at international Grand Prix level. The trot (8,5) was the highlight of his dressage scores that included 8s for the walk, canter, posture, and talent. Odeer received the following marks for his jumping performance: 6,5 for his technique, 7 for his carefulness, an 8,5 for his attitude and 7,5 for his aptitude.

First presentation Odin

After successful completion of the performance test, Gelder stallions must furthermore pass two one-day tests in the discipline other than the discipline examined during the performance test. Ojee-B was presented in harness, while Odeer completed his performance test under saddle. Both stallions must therefore comeback twice next year for a one-day test under saddle (Ojee-B) or in harness (Odeer). Right after the honouring ceremony of the Gelder stallions, a Gelder stallion that was registered after the spring performance test completed his first one-day test. Odin (Edmundo out of Buonaternel elite iBOP sport-dres pref PROK by Vitens, bred by M.H. Zwaneveld and P.E.M. Herwijer of Assen) was presented in harness for the first time. Marloes van der Velden explains: “Today we have seen Odin in harness for the very first time. A date for his second examination will be set shortly, then he is presented at the outdoor terrain. Right after, we will announce our scores for his in harness performance and if the evaluation is positive, he will be fully approved.”
