The last assessment as part of the approval trajectory of the Gelder palomino stallion Odin (s.Edmundo) has taken place in Ermelo. The stallion was presented in harness by his driver and co-owner Marcel van Bruggen at the outdoor terrain of the KWPN Centre. The stallion also passed his last assessment by the stallion selection committee, which means that Odin has now earned his definitive and full breeding license.

Odin (Edmundo out of Buonaternel elite IBOP sport-dres pref PROK by Vitens, breeders M.H. Zwaneveld and P.E.M. Herweijer of Assen) was the only Gelder stallion to participate in the spring performance test of 2022. He convinced the committee of his talent in dressage, jumping and performance in the outdoor terrain. The stallion received multiple 8,5s and even a 9,5 for his mindset.

In-harness presentation

After successful completion of the performance test, Gelder stallions must furthermore pass two one-day tests in the discipline other than the discipline examined during the performance test. As part of achieving full approval, the stallion was presented in-harness in the indoor arena in the autumn of 2022 for the evaluation of movement and agility test.

Full approval

On Thursday February 15, the stallion was presented at the outdoor site of Ermelo for the second and last time. In-harness, Odin displays great willingness to work, is eager and very agile. In his performance he demonstrated to be a sympathetic and reliable horse, both of site and on the public road. Odin was granted 8,5s for his trot, canter and bearing. He was furthermore given exclusively 8s for his willingness, agility, and overall impression. The walk could cover more ground and show a more swinging back. The stallion was awarded a 7,5 for this gait. Since Odin passed his last assessment with flying colours as well, he has obtained a full breeding license.
