Stallion competition Kronenberg: Nalegro's extra canter secures the victory
The impressive Nalegro, the Painted Black son out of the full sister of Valegro, once again stood out tonight in Kronenberg. Under his rider Charlotte Fry, the stallion showcased a powerful and expressive performance, earning 86.2 points in the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage class M.
Nalegro (Painted Black out of Jalegrofleur ster pref PROK by Negro, breeder Joop Hanse from Burgh-Haamstede) received a 9.0 for his impressive canter from judges Patricia Wolters and Marian Dorresteijn tonight. The trot and overall impression of this high-quality dressage horse resulted in an 8.9. Patricia commented, 'This is a horse with a lot of power, he is very eager, and that sometimes hinders him a bit. It builds up some tension, which means the contact can still be a bit more open. The walk has good four-beat rhythm and scope. In trot, he has a beautiful front leg technique and a lot of power, impulsion, and bending in the joints. Additionally, we observed good use of the hind leg. The canter is active and very powerful.'
Relaxation and Engagement
After Femke de Laat won the Z/ZZ-L class, she secured the second place in the M class. She did so with the Just Wimphof son Network (out of Keyveniz Texel stb-ext pref D-OC by Negro, breeders D. Staller and D. Broekema from Westbeemster), scoring 85.2 with a consistent score sheet. Patricia remarked, 'This is a beautiful dressage horse with a very nice silhouette. He showed great willingness to work, is well-trained, and demonstrated the ability to transfer weight onto the hind leg. We saw relaxation and engagement. The walk is pure and spacious, with good body use; he could show a bit more shoulder freedom. In trot, he has a lot of impulsion, rhythm, and balance. He is also impeccably clear. The canter is powerful with good balance; he could lift the withers a bit more.'
This is Naqueen
Completing the top three was the NRPS and Oldenburg-approved This is Naqueen (Trafalgar out of Aqueeni by Samba Hit). Kim Noordijk presented the expressive, appealing stallion in a friendly manner. The stallion displayed a sympathetic image and stood out for his completeness, receiving a consistent score of 8.5 for trot, canter, and harmony. This performance resulted in a total score of 83.8.
