No Gelder stallion for the performance test
Saturday, February 1, the final day of the KWPN Stallion Show, not only dressage and harness horse stallions entered the arena, but the Gelder stallions were also represented. None of them received the green light.
Two stallions appeared for the second round viewing. Of the seven stallions presented at the first round viewing in Ermelo, only two were invited to Den Bosch. First to enter the arena was Spiedie Jane (Abrilon out of Thilma-Jane by Inspekteur, bred by R. van Malestein). Next was Showtime (Mexpression out of Ismooi keur preferent by Charmeur, bred by M.C. van der Spek). They made a mediocre impression on the stallion selection committee, which this time consisted of chairman Arie Hamoen, Wouter Plaizier, and Jan Pen. As a result, neither stallion received an invitation to the performance test. This means that, for the first time in a long time, no Gelder collection will participate in the test in Ermelo, a concerning development for breeders.
