Tonight, a well-deserved and special tribute was also paid to the only living preferent stallion in the Netherlands, namely Cizandro. This son of Waldemar out of the star preferent Manno daughter Uizandra was born in 2007 at the Den Otter brothers’ stud in Bruchem.

From the very first day, they saw how special and unique he was, and they were proven right. Cizandro came, saw, and conquered. As a two-year-old stallion, he was already crowned champion at the NTD. He also became performance champion of his year with remarkably high scores. His winning streak continued when he was named Harness Horse of the Year in 2013. With Robbie van Dijk holding the reins, Cizandro claimed victory after victory. After being declared preferent, Cizandro retired as a competition horse three years ago during the National Harness Horse Day. It had been more than enough. By now, he has sired over 700 offspring, including four approved sons and three approved grandsons. Three of the latter group—Oberon, Rebel MJDB, and Ricardo—will be presented at the KWPN Stallion Show. It all runs in the family.

A top-fit harness horse stallion
Cizandro was still in top condition, and the more people applauded, the better he performed. Everything still functions as if he were a three-year-old—front, hind, and overall presence, all still abundantly there. When Cizandro enters, all eyes are on him, and something special happens. And the crowd was more than happy to applaud this legend.
