KWPN Select Sale: 280,000 euros for premium stallion Scaramouche
The quality of the dressage collection at the KWPN Select Sale was once again demonstrated today by the results of the second round viewing, with eleven stallions selected. Among them is the premium stallion Scaramouche. This Glock’s Toto Jr son became the absolute auction topper at €280,000. Two more horses exceeded the €100,000 mark.
“This was really very good,” said Ralph van Venrooij, clearly satisfied after the event. “There was plenty of bidding in the hall, from the VIP area, and from the general audience.” Many online bidders also found their way to the auction website. The first auction horse immediately sparked an intense bidding war among many interested parties. Ultimately, the premium stallion Scaramouche (by Glock’s Toto Jr) was sold for €280,000 to a pair of Dutch investors.
Premium stallion retained for the Netherlands
“It’s great that this quality horse will remain in the Netherlands for sport and breeding. These investors had been watching the horse for quite some time.” The selected Bloomberg son, Salvation ES, also fetched a top price. A Swedish buyer purchased the stallion for €180,000. The third stallion to exceed the €100,000 threshold was the Taurus son, selling for €110,000 to a buyer in the United States.
Dutch top riders make their mark
It was evident that customers from all corners of the world had their sights set on the KWPN Select Sale. Buyers came from Sweden, America, and Spain, with additional interest from Scotland and the Netherlands. Remarkably, many Dutch top riders managed to secure stallions. Over 90% of the stallions were sold tonight, with an average price of €62,000 for those sold.
