The FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for young horses came to a thrilling close with the final for the seven-year-olds. Dutch rider Renée de Weert finished sixth with the Grandorado TN daughter Nikita B.

Out of 42 starters, ten combinations jumped clear in the 1.45m final. Among them was the KWPN-bred mare Nikita B sport-spr (Grandorado TN out of Peanette B prest by Heartbreaker, breeder Gerrit and Eddie Brinkman from Zutphen), ridden by Renée de Weert on behalf of Stal Henk van den Broek. The pair delivered a fast round but had a rail down at the final oxer after arriving slightly off stride. The three medalists each also had a fault in the jump-off but managed to do so in faster times, illustrating the very high standard of this final. Rising sire Aganix du Seigneur made his mark with three offspring finishing in the top ten, including the new world champion Augustus Z with Eoin Brennan.

Three Years in a Row
For the third consecutive year, the KWPN-approved stallion VDL Sambucci de Muze (Hunter’s Scendro out of Malissa de Muze by Vigo d’Arsouilles, breeder Joris De Brabander) qualified for the final under Luke Hill. Unfortunately, one unlucky rail kept this competitive duo out of the jump-off.
