Arie Hamoen honoured once again in a public tribute
After Arie Hamoen had provided the commentary on the Gelderland stallions in the Stallion Competition, he was asked to remain in the arena for a moment. Jacques Maree then presented Arie with a beautiful horse sculpture in recognition of his many merits.
Jacques said: “You have been providing various services to the KWPN since 1983. That means no less than 43 years! You have worked tirelessly for the different disciplines and never said ‘no’ when your help or advice was requested. What was particularly characteristic is that almost everyone found it extremely pleasant to work with you, also thanks to your outstanding expertise. Such a wealth of knowledge and experience naturally merits a Golden Pin, which you have already held since 2013, presented to you after nine years on the stallion selection committee. Nevertheless, we wanted to thank you once again for your boundless commitment, hence this fine horse sculpture. At the same time, I sincerely hope that I will see you and your wife here many more times as dedicated spectators.”
Deifeldt’s King van de Landhorst
Arie was a long-standing member of the Gelderland Horse Stallion Selection Committee. His position has since been taken over by Jan Pen. As chairman of the Gelderland Horse Stallion Selection Committee, Jan then entered the arena to give an explanation about the recently KWPN-approved Deifeldt’s King van de Landhorst (Deifeldt van Kiona ster sport-dres PROK uit Abrilon) Jan explained: “This stallion is eleven years old and is currently competing at Grand Prix dressage level. At the request of his owner, we evaluated a number of his offspring. These were generously developed, showed plenty of bone, and strongly expressed the Gelderland type. The stallion himself tends slightly towards the more classical type, which means he could be a very good match for Gelderland mares with a lot of riding-horse blood in their pedigrees.” The striking black stallion Deifeldt’s King van de Landhorst was fittingly presented to the audience in ’s-Hertogenbosch by his regular rider Jean-René Luijmes. Proud breeder Frank Beurskens from Didam also entered the arena. It is always an impressive moment to present your own breeding product to the audience of the Stallion Show.
