46 selected stallions form a strong crop
The second inspection has produced an interesting group of dressage stallions that will now have the opportunity to prove themselves in the performance test. A total of 46 stallions earned an invitation.
In total, nine stallions were invited for the championship inspection, in which the Glock’s Toto Jr. son Tony Gold claimed the coveted title (see related article). Five stallions were invited for the presentation of the premium stallions on the first day, with four more added today.
Broad quality
“The overall quality of this crop really stands out, which has also resulted in a generous total of nine premium stallions,” explains committee chairman Bart Bax. “They are all stallions we believe are well worth testing. We did not let ourselves be guided by a target number, but we are pleased to have ended up with 46 stallions. The quality was truly sufficient.” Emmelie Scholtens experienced her first KWPN Stallion Show as a committee member and looks back on the process with great enthusiasm. “I really enjoyed working on this and assessed the stallions very much from my sporting background. We had healthy discussions and worked well together as a committee. It is very interesting to experience the stallion selection from behind the jury table, and I truly enjoyed the high level of quality.” The 46 selected stallions show great diversity in pedigree. Among others, the young stallions My Blue Hors Santiano, New Orleans and Extreme U.S. each had multiple sons selected. These three-year-old stallions can be presented for the performance test from as early as the coming autumn.
