The competition for the Pavo Cup was a "neck-and-neck race" between two geldings in the four-year-old division. The leader after the semi-final was Broere Argentino with Kirsten Beckers. After the first final round, he relinquished his lead to TC Athene (United x Orleans elite s.Jazz). Jessica Buying rode the big and long-legged chestnut who moved through the arena with abundant expression.

The Grand Prix guest riders in the final round were Sander Marijnissen and Stefan van Ingelgem, who is from Belgium. Both praised Broere Argentino's very good gaits and obedience. With respect to TC Athene's training, Van Ingelgem thought it still needed some improvement. "But," he said, "this is about talent and basic gaits, and for those, I'm giving him a 10."

Broere Argentino is registered to M.A.A. Broere in Bleskensgraaf, who also bred the young horse. T.C. Athene was bred by J.B.J.M. Streppel in Wilp and is registered to T.J.M. Coomans in Oud Beyerland.

The third place finisher was the stallion Angusch (Special D x Sedech keur s.Jazz), bred by R. Giepmans in Bergen and registered to A.B.M. van Driel - van Daal in Loosbroek and D.J. van Silfhout in Heteren.

The best mare in the competition was Anna Beth (Oscar out of Macbeth keur pref sport(dres) by Corleone), ridden by Emmelie Scholtens. Anna Beth is registered to her breeder, G.W. van Norel of Wapenveld. The combination finished fourth.

The approved stallions Apache, Andretti and Alexandro P ended respectively in 10th, 22nd, and 25th place.

Van Ingelgem and Marijnissen were both enthusiastic about the quality of the six horses in the five-year-old division, especially the KWPN-approved stallion Zhivago (Krack C x Jazz). Both riders awarded him a 10, giving him a huge winning edge over his competition! The dark bay stallion, ridden by Theo Hanzon, was bred by Pegasus Stables of Bentelo and is registered to De Radstake of Varsseveld and Joop van Uytert of Heerewaarden.

The second place horse was the very nice mover So What (Sandro Hit x Donnerhall). She was bred in Germany and is registered to her rider, Margreet Prosman, who presented the mare very nicely.

The best gelding in the select group was Hunter Douglas Zan Tropez (Hemmingway x Boreas) with Pim Candel in the saddle. The bay with the nice canter was bred by Th. Gielens of Haps and is registered to Tineke Bartels of Hooge Mierde.
