Prior to the finals of the Blom Stallion Competition Z/ZZ Class, the KWPN-approved stallions Blom’s Ever Blue (Zirocco Blue VDL out of Thissonnevanck elite s.Indorado, bred by H. and Erik Veenstra from Nuis) with Mitchel Sonneveld and Edinburgh (Vleut out of Olympic Queen keur sport-spr prest s.Darco, bred by Evert Meijer and Gerard Lindeboom from Dalfsen), ridden by Kristian Houwen kept competing each other out of the first place.

In Ermelo and Roosendaal Ever Blue triumphed, in Zuidbroek Edingburgh was stronger. Blom’s Ever Blue started the finals with the 58 points, and as expected, the impressive stallion placed himself for the jump-off with a nice clear round. Sire Zirocco Blue was just rewarded the keur predicate for, amongst others, his good offspring, and Ever Blue justified this by jumping effortless to the finish. Also Edinburgh was one of the 9 stallions that placed themselves for the jump-off, but he stranded on his way to the KWPN double combination. Bad luck for Kristian Houwen and the talented stallion, that noted 12 faults but placed overall second because of his strong performances in previous rounds. The day’s victory went to Harley VDL-son Everto (out of Cassina s.Candillo, bred by M. van den Bruggen from Goirle), that finished Louis Konickx’s course the fastest with James Gilmartin. With this result he got in the overall fifth position. The overall victory was for Blom’s Ever Blue. A great triumph for owner Rinus Blom, sponsor of the competition. The third place in the overall rankings was taken by Remco Been and Etoulon VDL, whose son Itoulon van de Katenhorst was positioned third in the championship round earlier that day.
