A good day for the Gelder horse breeding! All four stallions that were presented in the second round viewing this morning, were invited to the third round viewing! Three stallions were selected for the championships finals, but none could beat the champion: Independent Little Me.

 Measuring 1.67m and proving to be an impressive mover, this brand-new champion is actually not so ‘little’. Independent Little Me (Uno Don Diego out of Wendela ster by San Remo, breeder: M.J.H. Rothengatter from Nijensleek) moved fantasticly each and every time he entered the ring, although it did not seem to cost him any effort. Chairman of the stallion selection committee Reijer van Woudenbergh explained: “The champion is the one stallion that kept showing lots of impulsion.

In addition, he has a generous front, he shows suppleness while always coming back on the hind leg. The championships round featured two more appointed Gelder stallions. Out of the first year of Danser standing at stud there was Imposant van Genius Fontis (out of Roosmarie ster pref PROK by Elegant, breeder: N. van Houten der Veen from Opende). “A stallion that displays abundant activity in all the three gaits and boasts a good Gelder horse type.” Also selected was Izaak (Wynton out of Rosita keur pref sport-dr by Cabochon, bred by B. Veeneman from Beemte Broekland) that is bred out of a strong Gelder dam-line. “This line has produced many horses that have received predicates and/or were successful in sports. The stallion moves actively, uphill and with lots of power.” All in all, a great day with three stallions selected for the performance test!
