At the first round viewing yesterday, several good jumper stallions were presented in the arena. Of the 49 entries, 18 earned a ticket to the next round, including three sons by Arezzo VDL and two by Baloubet du Rouet.

The stallion with the most sons yesterday was Arezzo VDL. Of his ten sons, the Stallion Selection Committee advanced three good jumpers to the second round viewing. “We had several good jumpers by Arezzo VDL in the ring, which we selected for their good reflexes and length in the body,” explained committee chairman Cor Loeffen. “In general, we liked the conformation of the stallions, and we saw several good jumpers this afternoon. There were also stallions that were a little hectic, and that often adversely affects the jump. We also selected interesting stallions today with respect to bloodlines, for which it's nice to see that the stallion owners are still looking across the border to bring interesting ‘new’ blood to the Netherlands. We were able to select 18 stallions that we'll continue to enjoy in 's-Hertogenbosch, among them a good jumper by Big Star, two different Baloubet du Rouet's and interesting French blood.”
