Fourth place in Ocala GP for Eddie Blue
In the HITS Ocala Masters Grand Prix, Devin Ryan got a fourth with the eight-year-old Zirocco Blue VDL-son Eddie Blue. “He is brave, careful, has lots of blood and enjoys to jump”, his rider says enthusiastic. The win went to the Rascin-daughter Ciana.
The Grand Prix of the HITS Horse Show in Termal, California, went to Andrew Kocher with the ten-year-old KWPN maree Ciana PROK sport-spr (Rascin out of Wiana M by Chin Chin, breeder Veehandel Musterd from Hooge Zwaluwe). Early 2015 this mare was sold to the United States by Mario Everse. Ridden by Andy Kocher the careful mare was just a tiny bit faster than the Zirocco Blue-son Ever Blue (out of Silvana keur by Marlon, breeder J. Honcoop from Chaam, who two clear rounds as well with his rider Decin Ryan. He is very happy with his horse: “I ride Eddie Blue since he was a four-year-old. As a five-year-old he never made a mistake. At that age he won the East Coast Championship at the Hampton Classics. And as a six-year-old he won that title again! When he was seven, Paul Oshea rode him in the East Coast final at the show in Princeton. They were the Reserve Champions. Eddie proves time and time again that he is in the top of his birth year”, his rider says.
Always off the pole.
He continues: “When he was young, Eddie knew exactly how to stay clear on the fences. If he ever hit a pole, you knew that he would stay far from the wood for the rest of the day. Also when he is not fully concentrated, he stays off the poles. As if he’s got a radar on his legs! I’ve never had a horse like this. And I know what it is to ride Zirocco Blue offspring. Dirocco B has got more blood, and is also really careful, has a big heart and lots of scope. But Eddie is unique, I expect him to go to the highest level.” Three days earlier, the pair also got a fourth, with a double clear round, in a 1.45m class.
