Due to the high quality of stallions in the KWPN Spring Performance Test for stallions, 13 three-year-old stallions and three older stallions could be approved for breeding.

No less than 13 stallions were approved with a total score of 80 or higher. The overall quality was striking in this group. “I don’t think we have ever been able to approve such a strong group of jumper stallions. We saw very complete stallions, that were able to convince both in jumper qualities, conformation and in pedigree”, said chair of the Stallion Selection Committee for jumpers Cor Loeffen enthusiastic. “The stallions were also showing great rideablity and attitude this test.”

Two Harley VDL-sons

Two sons of the keur-stallion Harley VDL received the highest score, 86,5 points. Jenssen VDL (out of Zirsinaa van de Leeuwerk Z by Zirocco Blue VDL, breeder R. Joosen from Sint-Lenaarts), got nines for his canter and reflexes. Another very complete stallion is his half-brother Justice HL (out of Noblesse Oblige elite pref prest by Epilot, breeder Corry Dolstra from Noordwolde), who was bought by De Wiemselbach. He stands out with his great rideability (9,5) and also showed that during his exam. Besides that he got a nine for attitude.

Toptalents

Besides Harley VDL, the keur-stallion Verdi and top-sire Kannan also both got two sons approved. From the latter we saw the Champion of the KWPN Stallion Show Jardonnay VDL (out of Duzella elite IBOP-spr by Indoctro, breeder Jan van Gestel from Hilvarenbeek). With 84 points, he went home with a very consistent report. Another stallions that stood out was the Holstein bred Jacadello (Cascadello out of B-La Palma by Lordanos, breeder Harm Thormählen) owned by Stal Hendrix. This interesting grey had all eyes on him because of his good technique (9), rideability (9) and scope. He received 86 points.
