For a moment it looked like last year´s Grand Prix-winner Michel Hendrix and Baileys would again grap the title at the Bolesworth Grand Prix. But Irish rider Anthony Condon rode a super round and had the second of only two double clears in the four star Grand Prix.

Last year, Michel Hendrix and Baileys (Indoctro out of Ottawa ster prest prok by Come On, breeder J. Uittenbosch from Heel) took the win in the Grand Prix at Bolesworth. This year the pair showed again their great form. On Friday they got fifth in the 1,50m-class, and on Sunday they had another clear in the first round. In the second they seemed well on the way and rode a good time, 47,44 seconds. That would have been good enough for  the win, but they had a pole down what put them in sixth.

Tough Grand Prix
The Grand Prix, that was ridden over two rounds, of which the best eleven were asked to come back for the second round, proved to be really tough. In the first round only five horse/rider combinations managed to stay clear. In the second only two out of those five kept the score on zero again.
Anthony Condon and Balzac (Oklund out of Taggi prest by Frisbee Kerellec, breeders Anna & Wilma Wolters and Rik Ongering from Groningen) managed to stay clear in both rounds of the Grand Prix in a time of 49,86 seconds. That was enough for the win. He was followed by British rider Keith Shore. Robert Whitaker had a timefault in both rounds, and got third. His uncle Michael Whitaker and the very experienced Viking (Jacomar out of Prinses vb prest by Almox Prints, breeder Mattie Habraken from Sint-Oedenrode) set a fast time in the second round, but four faults in both the first as the second put them in eight.
