After the second part of the qualifiers for six-year-olds, three KWPN-horses have directly placed themselves for the final. The KWPN-stallions Governor Str and Gunner KS and the Jazz-offspring Gerion.

Gerion

The Australian Briana Burgess showed a very correct test with the Jazz-son Gerion (out of Aimée de Jeu van Don Primero, bred by C.J. Reemst from Sleeuwijk). Lovely still in the contact in the trot with a strong extended trot, which earned him a 9.2 for that gait. Also the perspective received a 9.2, generating an average score of 8.94 for the harming chestnut. “I am super happy with his performance. He was so focused, on his first big competition. Amazing,” said the Australian rider afterwards. This score placed the on the fourth position in the rankings.

Governor Str

The KWPN-stallion Governor-Str (Totilas out of Orleans elite pref prest by Jazz) demonstrated to be deeply concentrated in his test. Nicely high in the contact, tact in the trot and a powerful canter that was awarded a 9 made the scoreboard note an average of 8.66. The stallion was bred by Jan Streppel from Wilp and comes out of the full sister of Parzival. Adelinde Cornelissen placed herself directly for the finals with three horses: “He was really good today, no mistakes, truly special. It would be great if he can place himself directly for the finals as well!” she said directly after her test.

While she succeeded, some other combinations were not able to do so unfortunately.

The second on the starting list was Graaf Leatherdale. Ridden by Charlotte Fry, the son of Lord Leatherdale (out of Pidanka T by Kennedy, bred by W.H.J. Timmers from Volkel) presented himself very well. He made a big impression with his powerful trot and nicely uphill canter. The average score was 79.4. Charlotte herself was satisfied but also surprised. “He felt really good, with tact in the trot and uphill in the canter. The points were therefore slightly disappointing.”

Genua TC

Jeanine Nieuwenhuis entered the ring with Genua TC. She rode the daughter of Charmeur (out of Toulouse elite pref prest by Jazz, bred by J. Streppel from Wilp) with all she could, but Genua was a hand-full. Especially in the corner near M she was very tense and this caused some disruptions. Jeanine: “She felled really nice. The extended trot was absolutely fantastic, but she was genuinely scared. Such a pity, because she has so much quality!” The score averaged with a 9 for the trot and only a 6.7 for the submission to an 8.0.

Go on top MP

The stallion Go on Top MP (Danone I out of Sorenda PB keur pref prest by Welt Hit II, bred by M.J. Ploegmakers van Bavel from St-Oedenrode) of the Belgian Brecht d’Hoore showed some great things. However, he was quite distracted which caused some disruptions. His powerful canter made up for it. 7.82 was the final score.

Great Lady TC

Jeanine Nieuwenhuis was also the last Dutch rider to enter the arena. This time with the powerfully trotting Great Lady TC, daughter of Bretton Woods (out of Tiffany’s Monday stb pref s.Osmium) that was bred by her employer Tim Coomans from Oud-Beijerland. The walk showed a great length and the canter was nicely uphill. Every now and then she was slightly tense and high in the contact. The score resulted in 8.16. Jeanine had hoped for a little more: “She was moving great, but could have been slightly more relaxed. Such a shame.”

The highest score of the day was for the Australian rider Simone Pearce. She took of the lead with Feodoro (s.Furstenball). Through a 10 for the walk, the gelding moved to a 9.02. the second place was shared by last year’s silver medal winner Quel Filou under Severo Jurado Lopez and Longwood Dancing Diamond ridden by Anne-Kathrin Pohlmeier. In the end, it was quite exciting for Gunner KS who received 8.5 points yesterday and was placed 12th. However the son of Bellissimo kept his position and has placed himself directly for the final with Dana van Lierop.
