The Gelder stallion Henkie had already the second round of his stallion competition at the KWPN-center in Ermelo. Ridden by Adelinde Cornelissen the son of Alexandro  P received 88 points.

The breeding product of the Hekkert family from Wijhe showed to have progressed since the World Championships in Ermelo. With loads of presence Henkie (Alexandro P out of Beaujamanda ster by Upperville) went through his test. “We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful test with many highlights”, chair of the judges Arie Hamoen said afterwards.”

Nicely off the ground

“The walk has good ground-cover, has rhythm and is clear, also in the difficult transition from extended walk to the collected walk, a 9. The trot shows suspension, and has a nice use of the foreleg. In the sidegaits, the bending in the body is very even left and right, that was striking, also a 9. The canter has lots of push, although Henkie could come up in the withers a bit more, an 8,5.” With an 8,5 for self-carriage and 9’s for overall impression and functionality as a dressage horse, the total went to 88 points, what got him, also because he was the only contestant, the win in this competition round.

Consistent tests

“This is just the way Henkie always goes. He always shows very consistent tests, I feel that is a quality on its own!” Adelinde said afterwards. “He proves over and over again that he can go round very consistently, and also show tremendous quality in his tests.”

Stronger

“I notice that Henkie is getting stronger and can keep his self-carriage throughout the test. Sometimes it almost scares me how well he goes for a five-year-old. He has so much natural balance. The shoulder-ins are of a quality that I hope he still can show when he is at Small Tour level. Such a nice crossing of the legs and all steps so evenly off the ground. That gives a fantastic feeling. “

Stallion Competition

Now the stallion has met the requirements regarding the Stallion Competition for Gelder Horses, Adelinde will also show the stallion in the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage. “He has done really well over the past years, we will see where he stands.”
