28 stallions invited to performance test on first dressage day
An interesting group of 28 diverse stallions has earned an invite for the performance test today. Four of them are expected back in the arena tomorrow for the championships final.
“We are very pleased with thoday’s yield. The appointed stallions stood out in their posture and movement technique and we were able to select a couple of stallions that can contribute to our breeding in the context of blood variation. Diversity in the bloodlines is an actual issue and we have appointed stallions with a low relatedness to the KWPN-population for this reason”, says chairman of the stallion selection committee Bert Rutten. Out of the nine Governor-offspring that were presented, four are appointed. Amongst them championships candidate Kremlin MD (ds.Rousseau). “Conformation-wise the Governors vary, but they all got great posture and form of movement. So we were happy to grant four stallions the opportunity to prove themselves under the saddle in the performance test. In that crucial aspect of the KWPN Stallion selection we can select the stallions in an environment closest to the intended purpose, which will generate a lot of information” In total, 29 stallions were selected for the third-round viewing, one of them was not advanced to the performance test. KWPN Select Sale lot Knappe Jonge (Ferguson x Jazz) was one of the stallions that received the green light.
Four stallions for championships round
In addition to the Governor-son, Kaiman (Dark Pleasure x Gribaldo), Kevin (Dream Boy x Kennedy) and Kenzo (Ferguson x Vivaldi) are invited for the championships round. This grand finale is on the tomorrow’s schedule.
