The owners of GLOCK’s Johnson TN have chosen the KWPN Stallion Show to be the scene of his official retirement from competition. Under the tittle ‘GLOCK’s Johnson TN bedankt!’ (Thank you GLOCK’s Johnson TN!), he will have the lead in an impressive show on Friday evening February 1st.

The stallion was bred in 2002 in Sint-Oedenrode in the stables of breeder Piet van de Vleuten. As a foal, the stallion came into the hands of Team Nijhof from Geesteren, who recognized his qualities at a young age. The now preferent stallion and probably the most striking Jazz son, has progressed, ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud, to the absolute top of mondial dressage. Hans Peter Minderhoud was his rider from the age of 4 and has shared all the successes with Johnson.

Impressive sports career
A short impression of the outstanding sports career of GLOCK's Johnson TN: He was reserve champion in the Pavo Cup as a four-year-old, winner of the KWPN Stallion Competition 2007/2008 in the M class, won team gold at the European Championships in Aachen and individual bronze, a bronze team medal at the World Equestrian Games in Caen, an individual eighth place at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and numerous victories in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special. Johnson seems to be clearly passing on his good qualities, nice workable character and rideability. He has already produced several approved sons, grandsons and a large number of ster, keur and elite mares. His approved sons Double Dutch and Jayson will also come to the KWPN Stallion Show. The KWPN-recognized Double Dutch competes in the VHO Trophy ridden by Thamar Zweistra and the five-year-old Jayson is placed for the final of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition class L with Franka Loos.

'The king'
Hans Peter Minderhoud is always very enthusiastic about the stallion. Thinking about the end of Johnson's sports career, he says: "Johnson is now 17 years old and has competed at European, World Championships and Olympic Games. We think he has done enough, that he can take things a little bit slow now. Hopefully he will remain fit for a long time without the pressure of competitions and championships. He meant a lot to me. We went through everything from the class L stallion competition to the Olympic Games. And I won my first individual medal with him at the European Championships. He suited me very well, I think we were really a combination together. His movements and his entire appearance make him special. When he was in top sport, I always thought he was the most beautiful horse of the whole field, and I think many with me. All eyes are always on him, Johnson is a real king."

On the Friday night of the KWPN Stallion Show, GLOCK's Johnson TN will show himself to the public under Hans Peter Minderhoud. Will you also pay tribute to this exquisite stallion? Did you already order your tickets? Order here, KWPN members get a large discount on the entrance price.
