Four Gelder stallions made their appearance in Den Bosch. Three of them were advanced to the final stage where all of them were appointed to the performance test. It was the Guardian S-son Legend who grabbed the title. 

 

In the second round viewing Legend (Guardian S out of Geerlarda ster by Stuurboord, bred by R.G.C. Verspaandonk of Veldhoven) surprised friend and foe with his powerful trot and expression. His invite to the third round viewing was inevitable. In this final, he received fierce competition from Leopold P. (High Five U.S. out of Barones-Tilde ster pref by Koss, bred by H.J. and F.J. Peters of Stokkum), who was praised for his Gelder type and damline filled with predicates. The third stallion in the race was Lendor (Casaron out of Bamara keur sport-dres by Elegant, bred by H.T.A. van Wee of Hoogland), the one who caught everyone’s eye in the first round viewing because of his his quality canter and jumping skills. The jury appointed all three stallions to the performance test and crowned Legend as champion Gelder stallions 2019.
