With pride we present you the 20th collection of the KWPN Select Sale! The selection committee has put together an interesting and promising collection yet again. All stallions will perform again during the second round viewing in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, a chance to watch these future talents with you own eyes.

The KSS has proven that they select the right stallions with the view on breeding and/or sports. This year we see some of these successful auction horses back in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Silver team medal winners GLOCK’s Dream Boy N.O.P. and MDH Avanti N.O.P., were sold as young stallions in the KWPN Select Sale and have now proven their talent. This year they will appear in the presentation of the silver European Championship team.

GLOCK’s Dream Boy
We won’t just see GLOCK’s Dream Boy back in action at the KWPN Stallion Show, he is also of influence in the collection. We see this impressive Grand Prix stallion as the sire but also as dam’s sire in the collection. Dream Boy presents himself as sire of Mahler. This half-brother of the genetically interesting KWPN approved stallion King De Niro, combines the valuable blood of Dream Boy with a strong dam line. His dam Grandinosa is a daughter of former stallion selection champion Ampère and already gave the KWPN approved King De Niro (s.De Niro). Besides this she is a half-sister to the Grand Prix horse Cynosa (s.Tuschinski) and granddam of the ZZ-Licht horse Ilias (s.Charmeur).
The promising Oldenburg champion of 2015, Benico son Bonds, is the sire of Mandela. On dam’s side this young stallion is combined with the proven Dream Boy and Johnson TN. The ZZ-Licht horses Oliver Twist and Indiana Jones (s.Rossini) come from Mandela’s dam line. Via his granddam Cointreau, Mandela carries the valuable blood of Johnson. This sire is currently in second place on the WBFSH Sire Ranking, has given many Grand Prix horses and has been elected as Horse of the Year 2019.

Horse of the Year
Also the Horse of the Year 2018 is seen in the collection of the KSS. Last year Verdi earned this title. This 18-year-old stallion still jumps on the highest level himself with Maikel van der Vleuten, and has proved himself indispensable for the Dutch team on multiple occasions in big championships. We find his proven blood as the dam’s sire in Martino. With Harley VDL, Verdi and Indoctro in the sire line, this Martino has a nice pedigree. Three preferent stallions in a row who all produce top show jumping horses. Martino’s dam line has already given several approved stallions.

Five times 1.60m in a row
Risque-Tout 55 also impresses with his bloodline. With five 1.60m stallions in a row, scope is anchored in the pedigree of this appealing Risque-Tour 55! The sire of this stallion is no one less than the proven show jumper producer Diamant de Semilly, followed by Toulon, Darco, Kannan and Chin Chin. Risque-Tout 55’s dam Jes van ‘t Hoogeinde (s.Toulon) has proven herself on 1.40m level, granddam Geena (s.Darco) jumped on 1.55m level, great-granddam Babbe van ‘t Roosakker (s.Kannan) has jumped on the highest level just like her dam Usha van ‘t Roosakker (s.Chin Chin). But that isn’t all, this dam line gave multiple horses that jump successful on the highest level. Such as the 1.60m horse Cella (s.Cento) of Ben Maher out of Usha van ‘t Roosakker, just like the 1.60m horses Emperio van ’t Roosakker (s.Nabab de Reve) and Equador van ’t Roosakker (s.Nabab de Reve). The dam of Risque-Tout 55 is a half-sister to the 1.60m horse Jivaro Imperio Egipcio (s.Echo van ’t Spieveld).

Performance, that is what it’s all about these days. Performance genes on sire and dam’s side make this collection especially interesting. Curious yet? Check out the collection online. The show jumpers will be auctioned by auctioneer Frederick de Backer on Thursday the 30th of January during the KWPN Stallion Show. The dressage stallion will follow on February 1st.
