Kannan-offspring Macho Man sold to Groupe France Elevage for 72.000 euro
A few days before the KWPN Stallion Show, Groupe France Elevage sadly announced the passing of the legendary stallion Kannan. In the KWPN Select Sale they obtained a ray of hope for the future in the form of the appointed Macho Man (Kannan x Numero Uno). For 72.000 euro this charismatic Kannan-offspring transfers to a new home. Another aspect that caught the eye this auction, were the many new bidders from abroad.
The topseller was the appointed stallion Macho Man. Sjaak van der Lei of StuDutch says: "Macho Man jumped extremely well and showed such a solid performance. He descends from an excellent lineage, that produced top progenitor Renville and many other top sporthorses. We will now see how he develops under saddle and then hopefully he will be approved by the KWPN."
The appointed Hardwell-son Mister Sonderbygaard was sold to Scotland for 36.000 euro. The genetic pearl Risque-Tout 55 (by Diamant de Semilly) also fell in foreign hands. For 30.000 euro, the Canadian buyer with Dutch roots secured ownership of this stallion. The fourth and last appointed stallion also has a career across the border ahead of him. Merlijn H (by Up to Date) yielded 26.000 euro and moves to Hungary. The same buyer invested in Matcho-R-des-Fontaines (by Jumpy des Fontaines). The Comme Il Faut-son Mister Jones is set for Great Britain, while the Lord Sandro-son Macca DDH has an ocean to cross to reach his new home in the United States. Also sold beyond the nation are: Meilleur Tarpania (by Comme Il Faut) to Spain and Maestro (by Haynes GH) to Poland.
