The Horses of the Year have been announced! During the Online KWPN Stallion Show you can view the honoring of their breeders. The three winners are as follows:

Glamourdale
Champion stallion Glamourdale has won the title in the dressage direction with by far the most public votes. Last month, almost 2.000 horse lovers have voted for Glamourdale on the KWPN website. The KWPN-approved stallion was definitely the favorite. For the owner Gertjan van Olst, this award is a wonderful appreciation. Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale out of Thuja stb pref s.Negro, breeder Joop Rodenburg of Ouderkerk aan den IJssel) has already provided several highlights. For example, the black eye-catcher was proclaimed champion as a three-year-old at the KWPN Stallion Show, subsequently approved with a nice score of 85.5 points, four years later he won the World Championship for seven-year-old dressage horses and made a promising Grand Prix debut with Charlotte Fry.

Dana Blue
For the first time this year, a KWPN Horse of the Year is chosen for each breeding direction. Her qualities and winning mentality have already led to many successes and she also fulfilled her favorite role in the battle for the title of KWPN Horse of the Year in the jumping directio: The show jumping mare Dana Blue (Mr.Blue out of Tulana prest s.Hemmingway), bred by Jan Bocken from Weert, received by far the most public votes. The successes of Dana Blue are the result of a fruitful cooperation between the Bocken family and the Van der Vleuten family, who owned the special gray mare for many years.

Independent Little Me
It was already known that the eight-year-old Independent Little Me had many fans, and from now on he will be known as the KWPN Gelder Horse of the Year 2020! A great success for the Uno Don Diego son who is very successful under Dinja van Liere. Marc Rothengatter and Renata van Steijn bred Independent Little Me (Uno Don Diego out of Wendela ster pref prest s.San Remo) out of the same dam as the Grand Prix stallion Capri Sonne Jr. (s.Rhodium), who also started his career under the saddle of Dinja van Liere. As a three-year-old, the promising Independent Little Me was proclaimed champion of the Gelder stallions at the KWPN Stallion Show and as a six-year-old he participated in the WC for Young Dressage Horses. Last year they won the KNHS Indoor Championship in the Z2 class and a few months later a successful ZZ-Zwaar debut was made. Last September they underlined their advance by winning silver at the Dutch Championships in the ZZ-Zwaar class.

The Horses of the Year are part of the program of the Online KWPN Stallion Show, which you can follow from February 2-6, 2021 via the livestream on KWPN.org.
