With buyers from all corners of the globe, from Asia to America and from Canada to Europe, there was not lack of international interest. The new format of the KWPN Select Sale looked great; Frederik de Backer introduced the stallions live via an online stream and they were sold separately one at a time.  

In total, the auction website attracted thousands of visitors. Frederik de Backer spoke well of the first online KSS auction. “This auction was different than any auction I have ever done. The professionalism of the organisation of the KWPN Select Sale, both externally and behind the scenes is great. It all came together, the team, the accessibility, the management and that all resulted in a great outcome.” 

The topseller of the evening was the Apardi-son Niancard EB. The last bid came down to 36.000 euros. For 32.000 euros, the premium stallion A La Minute Z (by A La Carte NW) was sold to the Netherlands, the same price was paid for the second premium stallion: Nirvana V&V (by Farfan). Glenfiddich VDL-son Najib SMH leaves to England for 30.000 euro and the Zambesi TN-offspring Nacho TCS was sold for this amount. He has a future ahead in Hungary.  

Of all fifteen jumper stallions, 80% was sold. “Some people may say that not all horses were sold for top prices, but I am sure that many sellers are more than pleased”, says Frederik de Backer.  

The KWPN Select Sale has been a tradition during the KWPN Stallion Show in Den Bosch for 20 years already. Due the coronavirus, the 21st edition had to be converted to an online version. “Looking into the future, the combination of an online livestream and physical auction in Den Bosch could work very well for the KWPN Select Sale”, adds Wim Versteeg.  

Friday afternoon it is the turn of the dressage stallions of the KWPN Select Sale. Naturally, the collection can be viewed online. To place a bid, you must register in advance, to do so easily and quickly, please follow this link.  

The night started with the sale of two beautiful vases. The proceeds of 1.250 euro will be donated to the Prinses Maxima Centrum.
