40.000 euros for pregnant Franklin daughter
The highlight of this year's first broodmare auction was Madrugada D.Obertje (by Franklin) for 40,000 euros. After a long bidding duel between buyers from different countries, it is an Austrian buyer who may welcome this mare. Madrugada D.Obertje herself scored well at the inspection last summer and goes back to the well-known NMK mare O.Bertje. She is currently in foal to Sezuan son So Perfect.
26 pregnant mares and two embryos went under the digital hammer tonight. Besides foreign buyers from Austria, Belgium, Germany and Italy, there are also mares left for the Netherlands. On average the mares brought in over 11,000 euro.
This amount was also paid for the embryo of Jameson RS2 out of the full sister of Johnson, which was sold to a Dutch buyer. The most expensive jumping mare was Toulon-daughter Hestelle M, this 1.40m-mare is expecting a foal this year from Gaillard de la Pomme and was sold for 26.000 euro to Belgium.
The next online auction is planned in April, this will be a collection consisting of three-year-old dressage horses and show jumpers. More information will follow soon.
