Kjento and Grandorado TN are leading sires for the dressage and jumping foals born last year. Which stallions are most popular among the harness and Gelderlander foals born last year, we checked that this week! In 2020, more than 10,500 foals were born, of which more than 5,000 jumping foals, more than 4,800 dressage foals, slightly more than 500 harness horse foals and 170 gelder horse foals.

The top 5 sires of the harness horse foals born last year are as follows:

- Lanto HBC with 89 foals
- Icellie with 78 foals
- Cizandro with 67 foals
- Eebert with 24 foals
- Delviro HBC with 24 foals

Lanto HBC
A little more than 500 harness horse foals descend from 61 different stallions, where Delviro son Lanto HBC (out of Urby ster by Patijn, breeder Douwe van der Boon from Noardburgum) leads the ranking as newcomer. Lanto HBC was champion at the stallion selection in 's-Hertogenbosch and was registered last year with high points during the spring performance test. For front, posture, action front leg and general image the stallion received a 9. Stallion selection committee chairman Johan Hamminga described Lanto HBC as a very harness-type, imperious stallion with an extremely natural talent.

Icellie, Cizandro, Eebert and Delviro HBC
The main supplier of 2019, Icellie (Bocelli out of Petrose stb ster pref by Jonker, breeder J.R. Bosch from Hellendoorn), we see in second place this year with 78 foals. This is three foals more than last year. Last year, Cizandro (Waldemar out of Uizandra ster pref by Manno, breeder Gebr. den Otter from Bruchem) is in third place this year. He was the sire of 67 KWPN foals last year. The unfortunately too early passed away Eebert (Veldine keur pref by Manno, breeder P.J.M. Lelieveld from Leidschendam) cannot be missed in this list either. At the same spot as last year, the Atleet son has 24 foals. Last but not least in this top 5 is Delviro HBC (Vulcano out of Kelvira keur preferent sport by Waterman x Batello, breeder H. Meijering, Oosterhesselen), a newcomer in the ranking with also 24 foals.

Gelder horse foals
The top 5 of the Gelder horse foals born last year is as follows:

- Henkie with 23 foals
- Danser with 21 foals
- Edmundo with 14 foals
- Alexandro P with 12 foals
- Casaron with 8 foals

At the top of the list is triple World Champion horse Henkie (Alexandro P out of Beaujamanda ster voorl.keur by Upperville, breeder G. Hekkert from Wijhe) with 23 foals. Danser (Sander out of Sharon ster by Ahoy, breeder W. Kok from Zwolle) follows in second place as last year with 21 foals. This is 5 foals more than in 2019. Henkie's sire Alexandro P (Koss out of Itilde keur pref by Satelliet, breeders H.J. and F.J.
