First observation moment World Championships for Young Dressage Horses
The first observation moment for the FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses took place yesterday in Ermelo. This year's event will be held in Verden from August 25 until August 29.
There were 14 six-year-olds, 33 five-year-olds and 6 seven-year-olds presented by their own rider. The selection committee consists of Monique Peutz, Floor Dröge and Johan Rockx for the five and seven year olds. Johan Hamminga replaces Johan Rockx at the six-year-olds during the entire selection process because daughter Thalia Rockx rides in the six-year-olds competition.
During this sunny day we enjoyed the very nice horses that were presented very well. There were a few standouts and all riders took home a protocol. The five-year-olds were a bit fresh because they were missing some routine, but we were able to judge them all," says Monique Peutz.
The second observation moment will take place next Monday and Tuesday. After that the committee will decide which 30 horses will participate in the first WC observation training in mid-May.
