After being the shared top scorer yesterday, the KWPN-approved Mees van de Watermolen (s.Vannan) convinced the jury once again today. Receiving two 9s, he won the Blom Cup for four-year-olds.

The jury was comprised of top rider Denis Lynch, currently on the 9th position of the WBFSH ranking and inspector Henk Dirksen. It was quite a challenge for the four-year-olds at the main arena, but most got the job done. Including the KWPN-approved stallion Mees van de Watermolen (Vannan out of Holinda ster by Carambole) of breeder Jan Greve with Steven Veldhuis in the saddle. “In our opinion the most complete showjumper of the day and a positive remark that the rider needed no spears. That indicates that Mees vd Watermolen has lots of blood and has a great rideability,” explains Denis Lynch. “This is a stallion we expect to hear a lot from in the future.” His biggest competitor in the semi-final, with whom he shared the top score yesterday, placed fourth today: the KWPN-approved Mindset ES (Aganix du Seigneur out of Hosanne ES keur sport-spr by Kannan) of breeder Egbert Schep and ridden by Jarno van Erp. He received an 8.6 for jumping and the rideability between the fences today. “Another very good horse with lots of balance, that was still a little inconsistent in the technique. He has great rideability and we also have high hopes for him in the future.”

In second place was the athletic Magnifique TS (Grandorado TN out of Corolla TS stb PROK by Air Jordan, bred by the Ter Schure family of Witte Paarden) of Team Nijhof and Bart Blaauwgeers. Ridden by Joshua Hutchins, this gelding received an 8.9 for jumping and an 8.6 for the rideability between the fences. “This horse shines in his scope, is athletic and has a great attitude. He seems to have everything for the higher levels.” The top three was completed by the best mare of this championships: Madora Keizersberg (Scotch On Ice Z out of Isadora by Numero Uno) of breeder Stal Keizersberg ridden by Johan Klein Zieverink. She obtained an 8.7 for the jumping and 8.8 for rideability. She jumped the combinations with remarkable ease.
