It is no longer a secret that the KWPN Select Sale is able to scout quality at an early stage. Many former KWPN Select Sale stallions reach the very highest level in the sport, and not without exception combined with a career as an approved stallion. At Jumping Amsterdam, the KWPN Select Sale advertised in the best possible way: approved stallions running off with prizes. The best example is the approved Blue Hors Zack. He was sold as a three-year-old for the record sum of 430,000 euros, making him the all-time auction topper of the KWPN Select Sale. The stallion has been competing at the very highest level for years and played an important role in winning team gold at the World Championships in Herning last summer. Blue Hors Zack comes to 's-Hertogenbosch This weekend he showed that at the age of 19 he is still in top form and can still compete at world level. In the strong field of the World Cup Freestyle at Jumping Amsterdam, his rider Nanna Skodborg-Merrald broke her PR score with the stallion. The result of 85.220% earned a stunning third place, behind Dinja van Liere and Isabell Werth. "Blue Hors Zack is just great, he is so fit and wants nothing but to do his best. I would have been happy with a top seven ranking beforehand, given the incredibly strong field of competitors. But Zack continues to amaze me", was her reaction afterwards. Blue Hors Zack is attending the KWPN Stallion Show this week. Dream Boy and Mister Maserati GLOCK's Dream Boy was also sold as a three-year-old via the KWPN Select Sale and it was good to see the 15-year-old stallion back in the competition ring under Hans Peter Minderhoud. With a technically strong freestyle and a fine image, the stallion ran one of his better tests. The result was 81.970% and sixth place. The five-year-old Galleria's Mister Maserati impressed under Diederik van Silfhout in the final of the Subli Cup. After the KWPN Select Sale, Van Silfhout took charge of training the stallion, which resulted in victory at Jumping Amsterdam last weekend. KSS stallions will show off The KWPN Select Sale showjumping stallions are showing their qualities tomorrow, Thursday 2 nd of February. The KWPN Select Sale dressage stallions will be in action on Saturday during the KWPN Stallion Show. Joop van Uytert decided to withdraw Hermès N.O.P. (s.Easy Game) from the presentation at the KWPN Stallion Show after consultation with Dinja van Liere and coach Rieky Young. A few days ago, the stallion put up a dazzling performance to grasp the victory in the World Cup qualification of Amsterdam. “The sport comes first now”, Van Uytert explains. “I deem it important to show our stallions to the breeders when possible and for that reason I also think it is important to give an explanation if we decide not too”, Joop van Uytert shares. Hermès would give act de presence together with Glamourdale in a exciting conclusion to the Friday night.  “We think a presentation at the stallion show is a bit too much for Hermès at the moment. He gave an incredible performance at Jumping Amsterdam and Indoor Brabant is right around the corner. From a welfare perspective, this seems the best choice to us.” “Rieky strongly advised against a presentation of Hermès at the stallion show and I think it is crucial to listen to a coach. It would be such a shame for the sport if he were to sustain an injury. The sport must come first now, and I am sure the breeders understand that. The latest collection of the KWPN Auctions offers breeders the opportunity to start the new breeding year with a flying start. 14 pregnant broodmares and three promising embryos are part of the new collection . Various mares have already produced internationally performing offspring, have performed in international sport and/or have an excellent pedigree. Online bidding is possible from Friday the 10 th of February until Monday evening the 13 th of February. The KWPN Auctions platform got off to a flying start with this valuable collection of broodmares and embryos. The previous editions were successful as buyers from home and abroad have purchased outstanding breeding material. This online auction ends on Monday evening the 13 th of February, the first lots close from 8PM. Half-sister of Grand Prix horses Eight dressage and six showjumping breeding mares are part of this collection. A great opportunity is, for example, the Totilas daughter Glamour-Esther SVN . As a daughter of the famous mare O.Esther (s.Jazz) she is a half-sister of the international Grand Prix dressage horses Asther de Jeu (s.Contango), Zafriq de Jeu (s.Rousseau) and Brother de Jeu (s.Voice) as well as the international U25 Grand Prix dressage horse Esther SVN (s.Voice). Glamour-Esther SVN herself performed at Z2 (third-fourth) level and is in foal to top sire For Romance. The ten-year-old Royal Weltino (Dante Weltino x Rohdiamant) is another mare with an excellent pedigree, as she was bred from a full sister of the international Grand Prix stallions Glock’s Romanov/Romanov Blue Hors, Rubin Royal and Rubin Action. Osadia was bred from the leading Charites family and is in foal to Las Vegas. And what about the Santano daughter Evy , who has competed at Small Tour level successfully and brings in the valuable genes of Contango on the dam’s side. Performance genes The jumping mare Bonea Field (Corland x Nimmerdor) has also performed successfully in the international sport. This broodmare competed at 1.45m level with Lennard de Boer and she already foaled the international 1.30/1.35m level competing Grand Field (s.Calvaro Z). This direct line has already produced various international 1.50/1.60m level horses. That also applies to Ucalexia Z (Untouchable Z x Alexis Z), whose oldest offspring Livexus Z (s.Livello) has already been performing at international 1.45/1.50m level. Ucalexia Z herself is a half-sister of the international 1.50m showjumper VDL Groep Elexia (s.Calvaro Z) and she is in foal to Grand Prix winner Ipsthar. Another breeding asset will be the Vigo d’Arsouilles mare Haya PB (ds.Heartbreaker), who already foaled the seven-year-old 1.40m level horse Cavallo PB Z (s.Cicero Z) and is closely related to several Grand Prix horses. For example, this auction offers an embryo by Balou du Reventon which was bred out of the dam of the international 1.45/1.50m showjumper Candy Flip (s.For Feeling). Granddam Pina Colada is a half-sister of the famous Olympic showjumper H&M Butterfly Flip (s.Robin I Z) of Malin Baryard-Johnsson. The KFPS organizes a spectacular show at the KWPN Stallion Show in the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch om Saturday February 4. No less than six KFPS-approved stallions set foot in the arena during ‘The black pearls of the Friesian Studbook’. The KFPS Stalllion Show champion of 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2023 Jurre 495 will be presented to the audience by his owner Jelmer Chardon. Jurre 495 is accompanied by his stable mate and four-time winner of the Silver Bowl, Eise 489. We then will see the Overall Champion of 2020, Matthys 504, and the Champion of the Young Stallions 2021, Teun 505 under saddle as they are presented at Small Tour level by Corina van den Bunt and Franka Loos. Vice-champion of the older stallions of 2023, Tymen 503, and Overall Champion of 2022, Herre 524, will showcase their talents in-hand.
