Stallion Competition Kronenberg: fourteen stallions jump double clear in L class
The final class of the Blom Stallion Competition at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre showcased a strong group of promising young stallions. No fewer than fourteen stallions jumped double clear over the two rounds.
After the second round, the stallions were evaluated by stallion selection committee members Eric van der Vleuten and Wout-Jan van der Schans. “We’ve seen a very strong group at work today. One by one, these stallions show great potential for the future, which aligns with the impression we already had after the performance test,” said committee chairman Van der Schans. “We also saw that the riders are doing a great job with these stallions, most of them jumped around very easily and showed a good attitude. That’s a very positive sign for what’s ahead.”
Strong start to the season
Among the fourteen stallions who jumped double clear were the KWPN-approved stallions:

Stallion Competition Kronenberg: Drummer 2000 TN Flies to Victory with Impressive Jumping Style
The newly formed combination of reigning Stallion Competition champion Drummer 2000 TN and Willem Greve left the audience in awe during the Blom Stallion Competition class M. With his powerful canter and tremendous scope, the stallion jumped to a convincing win.
Last year, Drummer 2000 TN (Diamant de Semilly out of China Touch Hero by Chin Chin, bred by Stud 2000) claimed victory in the Stallion Competition under Kars Bonhof. This time, he impressed once again at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre, now under the saddle of Willem Greve.
Future Grand Prix Horse
Nine stallions qualified for the jump-off, and silence fell over the arena as Greve and Drummer 2000 TN entered for the second time. The large-framed stallion has long been praised, both in the performance test and last year’s Stallion Competition and for his exceptional combination of blood, power, and unlimited scope. His first appearance in the 2025/2026 Blom Stallion Competition made a strong impression. “I’ve only been riding him for three weeks,” Greve explained. “He’s trained at Nijhof, and I’ve just taken him to three small shows; Hellendoorn, Wierden, and Luttenberg. Drummer has so much canter, and I could use that to my advantage in the course. He’s very cooperative, which allowed me to make tight turns. He’s blooded but incredibly level-headed, and he rides beautifully, so his future looks bright.” Last year, the jury already described him as a future Grand Prix horse. “He has everything you want,” Greve continued. “For such a big horse he’s very light on his feet and careful. My main job as a rider is to protect him from himself, especially because he covers a lot of mares. But that has worked out with other Grand Prix horses too, so I’m optimistic.”
Athletic Stallions
The athletic Kaprun Z (Kannan out of Miss Emerald by Emerald van ’t Ruytershof) jumped impressively to second place under Liv Huijbregts. The willing KWPN-approved Pharao (Vigo d’Arsouilles out of Donnalina ster pref prest by Indoctro, bred by Gebr. Lohuis), owned by H. Lohuis, delivered a strong, committed round to finish third. Right behind him came the KWPN-approved Pagani of the Paddocks (Catoki out of Lewinsky by Corofino I, bred by Anthony Mornie), ridden by stand-in rider Pieter Keunen.

Stallion Competition Kronenberg: On and On MB shows full commitment on his way to victory in Z/ZZ Class
In the Z/ZZ class of the Blom Stallion Competition, On and On MB (v.Baltic VDL) proved simply unbeatable a wonderful success for the “forest horse” bred by Mirjam Bierings.
At the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre, the stallions kicked off the competition in the Z/ZZ division. Six combinations qualified for the jump-off, where five once again managed to stay clear.
A dream character
Rob Heijligers raced to victory with the KWPN-approved stallion On and On MB (Baltic VDL out of Koosje de Roblesse ster sport-spr by Harley VDL), bred by Mirjam Bierings. “On and On is developing really well; he’s a true team player,” Rob said. “At the last two shows I took it easy, hoping to peak here and it worked! I ride him about once a week, and his owner takes care of the rest of his training. He’s lovely to ride, has plenty of scope, and gives his all. In the last line to the oxer, I saw the distance early and went for it, that was quite bold, but it worked because he’s such a willing horse.” Breeder Mirjam Bierings was delighted with the win: “He’s such a wonderful horse! Just yesterday I rode him through the woods and across the cornfield for a good long gallop. I’m 67 now and have ridden many horses, but On and On is truly the best I’ve ever had. The cooperation with Rob is going great, I drive him to Rob every week, and this routine really works for us. There’s growing interest in him for breeding, but until now I was hesitant because if he became too stallion-like, I wouldn’t be able to ride him myself anymore. But he’s really maturing now, so maybe next year we’ll go ahead with that.”
Talents for the future
The only stallion jumping at 1.35m level in the jump-off, Springsteen TN (A Big Boy out of Cerena II Z by Comme Il Faut), ridden by Kars Bonhof, claimed second place with a quick, faultless round. The KWPN-approved stallion Only You DDH (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof out of Girly du Trefle by Kannan, bred by Gely, Gabriac & Calvet), owned by Kees van den Oetelaar and Stal Van der Vleuten, showed great progress under Joep van der Kampen, combining power and athleticism to take third place. Just behind them came the KWPN-approved Onassis TN (Grandorado TN out of Hella stb D-OC by Quasimodo van de Molendreef, bred by Stefan Wijnveen), who once again impressed under Kars Bonhof with another double-clear performance.

Stallion Competition Kronenberg: Real Dream tops the new generation with the highest score of the day
The 2021 generation made its debut today at the first Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage in Ermelo. The four-year-old stallions did not disappoint, Real Dream even earned the highest score of the day. The Dynamic Dream son impressed under Charlotte Fry, achieving 92.8 points, including a 9.8 for his outstanding canter.
The youngest generation provided an exciting finale to the first competition of the season. Real Dream (s.Dynamic Dream out of Fivanny ster PROK by Negro, bred by Maatschap Pleyter from Zalk and H.A. van Triest from Elburg), a grandson of the famous Dolly, was the final starter and took over the lead under Charlotte Fry.
“A very attractive, appealing horse presented with great harmony,” said Domien Michiels, speaking on behalf of Brecht D’Hoore and Janine van Twist. “This horse maintained a lovely connection, moving uphill and nicely toward the hand. The walk is functional and active, though it could show a little more reach from the shoulder. In trot, the picture was very natural, self-carried and consistent. He could still develop a bit more power in the extensions. The highlight was the canter, showing excellent balance, good technique, and an active hind leg that always stepped well underneath. The canter is natural, uphill, and fluent through the transitions, with consistent contact and a pleasant frame.”
Well-walking Renzo
Stablemate Renzo (s.Kjento out of Aronia elite pref prest IBOP-dres PROK by Rousseau, bred by C.M.E. Reijrink from Diessen) offered strong competition, finishing close behind with 92.4 points. Presented by Zandra Birkeland, the stallion earned a 9.5 for his high-quality walk.
“This is a powerful horse presented in a natural and harmonious way. The walk flows beautifully through the body, showing plenty of overtrack and activity. He maintained a good frame toward the hand and remained pure in rhythm from the very first step. The trot is natural and light-footed with lots of suppleness and swing, maintaining good balance in the lateral work. In the extensions, he could push a bit more actively from behind. The canter is light-footed and consistent, though we’d like to see a touch more jump.”
Sympathetic Magic McKee L
The approved NRPS stallion Magic McKee L (s.Total McLaren out of N-Joy L by Negro, bred by L. Horses from Skanderborg, Denmark), ridden by Lina Uzunhasan, finished third with 86.4 points, including a 9 for walk.
“A striking horse with a nice front and plenty of energy. The test gave a very sympathetic picture, with a horse that clearly enjoys his work. The walk is ground-covering, active, and shows good freedom from the shoulder. In trot, he is light-footed but still needs to develop more power in the extensions. The lateral work was shown in good balance both ways. The canter has plenty of power, though he could use his body a bit more through the gait.”

Stallion Competition Kronenberg: Pjethro claims victory in the M class
Last year in the Stallion Competition and again this summer in the Pavo Cup, Charlotte Fry and Pjethro had to settle for the reserve title. Today, the Kjento son struck back, taking the first win of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage season with an impressive 89.8 points in the M class.
As the first starter in the M class at Kronenberg, Pjethro (v.Kjento out of Jaomie elite IBOP-dres D-OC by Desperado, bred by A.J. Beerens from De Moer) set a benchmark that no one could beat. Under Charlotte Fry, the chestnut stallion earned 9.2 for canter and overall impression.
“This is a very strong, functional horse with a lot of technique in the legs,” said Domien Michiels, who judged the class together with Janine van Twist and Brecht D’Hoore. “In walk, we’d like to see a bit more stretch and at times a little more relaxation, though it was active and ground-covering. When the reins were taken up, he maintained a pure rhythm. The trot shows great technique, power, and natural balance—sometimes we’d like a slightly quieter mouth. The stretching in trot was especially good; he followed the contact beautifully. The canter has excellent self-carriage, is very functional, and remains uphill, with well-balanced transitions.”
Patheon close second
The competition in the M class was close, with Patheon (v.Hermès out of Watradin ster pref PROK by San Remo, bred by M. Schaap from Woudrichem) finishing just behind with 89.4 points. Under Alvaro Rodriquez Siscar, the stallion stood out for his excellent walk.
“This horse was presented very nicely, with a pleasant connection to the bit. When he became a little sharp or tense, the rider handled it very well by softening the hands. The walk is active and pure, maintaining a good rhythm even after transitions from canter to walk. In trot, he could take a bit more weight behind in the extensions, but he shows a lovely frame, good balance, and was well presented. The canter extensions were powerful, though at moments he was a fraction tense.”
Outstanding walk
Also showing an excellent walk was Power Dutch (v.Glock’s Toto Jr. out of Miss Dutch Utopia elite sport-dres IBOP-dres D-OC by Double Dutch, bred by Stal Hexagon from Schore), who completed the top three. Under Thamar Zweistra, he scored 87.2 points, highlighted by a 9.8 for walk.
“The walk is very ground-covering, active, and impressively large. He maintains a clear rhythm and activity from the very first step. The trot is uphill with plenty of power; in the extensions, he could stay a bit more on the hind leg. The same applies to the canter, which shows plenty of strength and activity.”

Stallion Competition Kronenberg: Red Viper leads strong group of six-year-olds
The Z class of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage showcased outstanding quality this evening. World Champion Red Viper lived up to every expectation under Dinja van Liere, scoring an impressive 92.2 points. With that result, the Romanov Blue Hors son claimed victory in Kronenberg.
Dinja van Liere presented Red Viper (s.Romanov Blue Hors out of Zolena elite pref EPTM-dres sport-dres PROK by Sir Sinclair, bred by C. Kerbert from Enschede) in the Z class of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition. The stallion received a 9.8 for trot and a 9.5 for overall impression from judges Domien Michiels, Brecht D’Hoore, and Janine van Twist.
“What a powerhouse, presented with great harmony,” praised Domien Michiels. “In the collected walk, we would like to see a clearer degree of collection. The extended walk was very pure, ground-covering, and rhythmical. He followed the contact beautifully, maintaining a clear rhythm. In trot, we saw tremendous power, impulsion, and balance. The lateral movements were executed with elevation and suppleness, and the contact was excellent. In counter canter, he could show a bit more balance today, but the extensions in canter were really beautiful. The flying changes were straight and powerful.”
Harmonious Obsession Taonga
World Championship finalist Obsession Taonga (s.Vitalis out of Jatilinda elite pref IBOP-dres sport-dres PROK by All At Once, bred by Stal 104 BV from Wijdewormer) closely followed with 90.8 points. Young rider Lara van Nek presented the homebred stallion with great harmony.
“This is a very elegant stallion with lots of expression. In the collected walk, he could have been a little more active from behind, but the rhythm remained pure. The extended walk was active with a good overtrack, and the frame opened nicely. The trot showed a lot of balance and power, with lovely extensions where he again opened the frame and kept the hind leg well engaged. In the lateral movements to the left, there was a bit of balance loss. In canter, this horse shows excellent ability to carry weight, which was also evident in the pirouettes.”
Extreme U.S.
Extreme U.S. (s.Escamillo out of Viva Contana PS by Vivaldi, bred by Gestüt Lewitz, Steinfeld, GER) also made a strong impression under Renate van Uytert–van Vliet. The Pavo Cup winner scored 89 points, finishing in third place.
“A very impressive horse, presented nicely uphill. The overall picture could become even more appealing as he develops a bit more length in the frame. The collected walk was a real highlight—active and with a clear rhythm. The extended walk was also pure, though we would like to see a bit more reach from the shoulder. The trot showed plenty of impulsion and uphill movement. The flying changes in canter were still a little green but cleanly executed. This stallion has a lot of power in canter.”

Stallion Competition Kronenberg: Ojee – B kicks off with a victory in the Gelder Horse division
At Peelbergen Equestrian Centre in Kronenberg, the Stallion Competition kicked off today with the first rounds of the season. The first selection of the KWPN Stallion Competition Gelder horse was won this evening by Anouk Slabbers with Ojee – B. The Ibsen B son impressed under Anouk Slabbers with his expressive trot, earning a total of 83 points.
As the first starter of the evening Anouk Slabbers presented Ojee – B (s.Ibsen B out of Jorien Tilde elite IBOP PROK by Rubus B, bred by G.S.W. te Bokkel from Eerbeek) in the ZZ-L class. Judges Arie Hamoen and Janine van Twist awarded the stallion a 9 for his trot, leading him to victory in the combined Z and ZZ-L division.
“This horse delivered a lovely performance and became more relaxed as the test progressed,” explained Arie Hamoen. “We saw this especially in the flying changes, which improved in the second half of the test. The walk could show a bit more overtrack and relaxation through the body. In trot, the horse moves uphill with an even bend to both sides. The canter shows plenty of power.”
Powerful-trotting Odeer
Second place went to Odeer (s.Atze out of Zeronica elite prest sport-dres PROK by Talos), presented by his breeder and owner Anouk Noordman. With an 8.4 for the trot as his highlight, the stallion earned 80.6 points.
“This stallion still found the atmosphere a bit exciting, and we felt he could have relaxed more throughout the test. The walk is active and pure, though it could show more stride in the beginning. The trot is powerful and uphill, with good ability to collect and extend. In canter, the flying changes were correct, but we would like to see a bit more athleticism.”
Olaf Official
Under Zoë Kuintjes, Olaf Official (s.Henkie out of Diamant ster by Sirius, bred by G.J.W. Roerdinkholder from Winterswijk Kotten) took third place, earning 76.4 points with a consistent set of marks.
“This horse still needs to develop more strength, especially in the trot where the hind leg could engage more decisively. The walk shows clear overtrack and good rhythm. In canter, he performed correct changes but was slightly hurried, which affected his self-carriage.”
